Magic the Gathering is the original collectable card game that is a more advanced and adult version of other collectable card games like Pokeman & Yu-Gi-Oh. If you are not familiar how to play Magic the Gathering, this blog will most likely not appeal to you much, but I do try my best to explain how each Magic card relates to it's Minecraft counterpart. So a while back Sethbling did a video on his Minecraft themed Magic the Gathering card set. After this I decided to make my own Minecraft themed Magic cards. I will be adding more cards in the future, so if you have card ideas let me know in the comments.
I used Magic Set Editor to make the cards.
The "First Strike" ability acts like the bow and arrow range of the Minecraft Skeleton.
The "Flip a coin" ability acts like the actual arrow being shot at something. You get a 50% chance of either hitting or missing the target and the -0/-1 counter is the arrow.
The "Bone Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get bones for killing a Skeleton and you can use that bone to tame a Wolf.

The Creepr Mob's ability to deal 6 damage to anything it comes into contact with and then being sacrificed for it acts the same way a Minecraft Creeper explodes kamikaze style.
The "Gunpowder Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get gunpowder for killing a Creeper and you can make TNT from it to use.

The "Shroud" and "Unblockable" ability both act like the Minecraft Enderman's ability to teleport away from anything.
Your opponent's ability to tap his or her Islands to deal damage to the Enderman acts the same way water deals damage to Minecraft Enderman.
The "Pearl Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get a ender pearl for killing an Enderman and you can use it once.

The "Haste" ability emulates the quickness of Minecraft Spiders.
The "Reach" and "Can't be blocked by walls" abilities act like the Minecraft Spider's ability to climb walls to reach great heights.
The "String Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get string for killing a Spider and you can make a bow from that string and give that bow to any creature. Just like the Skeleton, having a bow grants a creature first strike because of the added range.

The "Flesh Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get rotten flesh for killing a Zombie, but just like eating Rotten Flesh in Minecraft, you gain life but with the cost of getting poisoned.
In Minecraft, if you have 10 or more poison counter, you lose the game.

The ability "Infect" is a poisonous ability that goes with the poisonous theme of the Cave Spider.
This ability acts like getting poisoned in Minecraft, your life slowly goes down until your 1 away from dying. This ability stops at 9 poison counters, 1 away from death. In Minecraft, if you have 10 or more poison counter, you lose the game.
The "String Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get string for killing a Spider and you can make a bow from that string and give that bow to any creature. Just like the Skeleton, having a bow grants a creature first strike because of the added range.

This card is actually a reprint of an already existing Magic card that already goes perfect with the Minecraft Slime. When it dies, it splits into smaller Slime creatures.

The "Flying" ability because Ghasts fly.
This ability acts like the Minecraft Ghast spitting fireballs and the ability to redirect that fireball back at the Ghast.
The "Tear Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get a ghast tear for killing a Ghast and with a ghast tear you can make a regeneration potion from it to grant a creature the Regeneration ability.

The "Wither" ability goes with the Minecraft wither effect.
The "Head Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get a wither skeleton head for killing a Wither Skeleton and three of those heads are required to summon The Wither.

The "Haste" ability emulates the quickness of Minecraft Spider.
The "Double Strike" and "Persist" abilities both act like it's two creatures instead of one.

The "Flying" ability because the Minecraft Wither flys.
The "Wither" ability goes with the Minecraft wither effect.
This ability acts like the Wither shooting its heads at things and destroying lands in the process.
The "Nether Star Drop" ability acts the same as in Minecraft. You get a Nether Star for killing a Wither and you are able to make a Beacon with it.

The Ender Dragon abilities try to emulate the process it takes to kill an Ender Dragon.
You must use your creatures to kill five Ender Crystals that regenerate the Ender Dragon. These Crystals must all be destroyed in order to defeat the Ender Dragon.
The last ability acts like the Ender Dragon charge, swooping down at all your creatures.
