My honest opinion: Asking for diamonds and subscribers

The Problem:
I've seen all too many times while reading descriptions of projects, blogs, etc on PMC, people asking for diamonds and subscribers. I do understand people acquire their inspiration for posting through subscribers and people liking their work, but is it acceptable for people to ask for these types of things? Over time, I've come to see some of these comments as threats, especially when it is noted that more work will be produced only under the guidelines that more people have to subscribe or diamond. Think of a situation like this. You subscribe to someone because you enjoy what they make, and expect to be notified as they continue to produce the material you enjoy. Suddenly, the only way this is going to happen is only if they achieve more subscribers, or obtain diamonds.
But...what's so wrong with this??:
You as the person who subscribed for the content, are unable to receive any sort of work from the person. It's not like you can subscribe as many times as you want just so these people have the 'inspiration' to create more work. In my opinion most people do no require "inspiration" from people on a website like PMC so they will play a game more. People are playing Minecraft because it is fun and not because people are giving them diamonds or subscribing.
What I think!:
If someone enjoys your work, they will either subscribe or give you a diamond, if they haven't already. You shouldn't be asking for these things, because there are people out there that do anything someone popular asks them to do.
I don't think this should be allowed in the community; it just doesn't shine an honest opinion about work.

I have to say though, I'm getting kind of tired of articles like this blog because if you think about it... these are often the only blogs on the reel. If you think about it, other blogs don't show up on the reel because of these kinds about diamonds/subscribers/etc. Can't everyone just agree with one of these kinds of articles, and not make so many? Not to be mean, it's just somewhat irritating. Thus, I shall look at your other blog, about unoriginal projects, because I agree. There's too many of the same stuff on PMC.

I guess blogs can't get too unoriginal, considering everyone writing each have a different opinion about the topic.

I like to remind people that if they like it, diamond it.because these things people do take lots of work. look at the top texture pack(LB photo realism). Only 3k diamonds with 2.1 million views and almost 1 million downloads..there's no way 973k people didn't like that texture pack also it being the top texture. And level does kind of matter. Popularity could be keeping disco alive. Someone could make a temple notch thing but not get recognized because he's only level 1 and only gets like 10 diamonds and that user just kind of fades away thinking people didn't like his work when in reality it was amazing. I think people take work for granted a little to much.

i agree but, please don't argue with me im on your side but i think that its ok to leave like a reminder because when something happens like you get lots of views but no diamonds you might want to leave a reminder thingy or something so they do diamond it if it is worth the diamond and not i piece of crap.
i hope you understand this as im with you just that i think people should be allowed to say something like this, it'd be much apreciated if you left a diamond if you think this is a great piece of work. thank you

I agree fully. People look to be noticed by thier work but lets face reality unless you are the 500 pound minecrafter who sits on a bucket and plays minecraft all day like disco. You will never make it that far. Personally I think that the small projects are just as good as the gargantuan. However this is a different arguement. The fact is that many ask for such. Take a new miner, level 5 MozCat. I was looking at some of his work and realized that he stopped altogether. Where he stopped was the WetLands, the wetlands themselves looked amazing seeing how he made it in a super flat land. However he didnt put much in it and the water wasnt deep at all. The whole point is I noticed that MozCat stopped because of the Nether Starter Kit. He made. He asked for a certain amount of diamond and suscribers, once that number was achieved MozCat promised many more Nether Projects. The fact why he didnt get the suscribers or diamond is because the nether starter kit was unimpressive. It was small and didnt have much to it. He made tons of blogs on faction servers then he stopped altogether. MozCat seemed to be completely discouraged at that point. The whole point of the story is that since MozCat didnt get any diamond or likes he quit playing MC!!!! My theory on the whole arguement is that people take getting other people to like thier creations to seriously. Think of those beauty magazines that your gf always reads. Its very similar situation, the front page always gets more attention and no matter what the girl cant look like her. People you cant do what disco does. He is a very dedicated Minecrafter that nobody will ever reach to. The whole rant is that this wouldnt be a problem if people wouldnt take things so seriously.

Anyone can become like Disco, you just have to have the time, dedication, patience, brains, and creativity, which lots of people have, but just not as much as him.
