Hello!
When I first joined Planet Minecraft, 90% of the blogs had a meaning and were well written. The forums were used for requesting and life was good. Nowadays on the blogs section all I see is "NEED BUILDERS", "Need Some MODS FOR MY NEW SERVERRRRR", or the occasional, "Requesting Intelligent Builders Who Can Build Stuff". It really annoys me. I don't usually do rants as I dislike them as they annoy me, but I thought I might give it a shot. I know I have done a request blog before, but I want to remove them but can't be bothered (JUICY XP). Let's get going with this thang.
Issues
First point, if you want to request builders or admin for your server, there is a thing called the forums. There is also a subheading called "Requesting" or something along those lines. Second point, a blog is meant to be a well written bunch of paragraphs that have a point or idea to them. Requests do not have any good point to them. They are short and never go over a paragraph or two, plus they are uninteresting to read. Thirdly, the amount of views that requests get on the blog menu is either insanly bad, or insanly good. The insanly bad ones are good as they teach the writer a lesson about WRITING BAD BLOGS! But the requests that get a decent amount of views, diamonds and subscribers are annoying. The only reason people read these, diamond these, or subscribe to the author, is because they want to show how much they want to be that rank or do that thing on whatever it is they're requesting.
The Author
90% of authors of request blogs, are desparate for veiws and diamonds, they will go to the dark corners of the earth to get them. I am not saying all the authors are, but most. I aslo dislike it when people praise the author for no reason to do with the blog. With all the pressure that they get from people spamming the comments, it makes it hard for the author to choose. Peer pressure is bad, even on Planet Minecraft.
