Ghasts whined frantically on the other side of the portal.



Hoglins growled in anger, bouncing around the soft, fleshy netherrack that made up the strange dimension.



The portal had been made about a month before. Noone was foolish enough to cross to the other side, of course. Not even the strange creatures that hid throughout the realm.



The netherrack was spreading through the portal though, and it was speading fast. The common villagefolk tried multiple ways on how to stop it, but it was no use. They didn't even know what it was, and some scientists wanted to take samples of it for testing. Steve was one of the only people brave enough to want to go through the portal.



He had grabbed everything he needed and was thouroughly educated about the other dimension.



He stepped into the portal, turning behind him he watched the village slowly fade away into the purple hue.

There he stood, on the other side. The fleshy blocks surrounded his feet, the same ones that had invaded his precious village. The village he wanted to protect. The village he needed to protect, for their sake, and his.



A large white creature floated above him, with tall enderman teleporting from platform to platform. Steve took a quick glance at the area he was placed in. Lava flowed down from ceilings, and mushrooms were growing by the millisecond. He saw a faint red glow in the distance, and he decided to go investigate.



Crimson colored trees stood above him, giving off gentle warm light from the shroomlights that loomed above. Glowstone also trailed down like a fire spiral off the ceiling. The wood of the trees looked like normal wood from the overworld, but a slightly more red color with maroon vines clinging to every branch. Steve took out his axe and chopped some of the logs, as well some of the leaves for testing.



Then he saw a movement in the distance.



He assumed it was another ghast, at least he was educated about those, but it was much smaller. His first instinct was to block himself in, but he decided against it. He walked up to the people, who, on closer inspection, had a pig for a head. It was like a pig human hybrid, and it was something Steve hadn't heard a single word about.



One of them noticed him, and seemed to get angry. Their oinking and growling made no sense to Steve, and the only word he could kind of hear was "gold". He decided it would be a very good time to block himself in, so he took out his cobblestone, but the pig people knocked him down. He tried desperately to get back up, but the pig people didn't let him. He decided the only way out was to fight.



He took out his recently sharpened iron sword, and swung at them. When one of the pig people swung back with a sparkly gold sword, he knew he was in trouble.



Soon enough, he was on the ground, everything drifting away as the large castle loomed above him.



The faint glow of the shroomlight was the last thing he saw.
