Disclaimer: I am doing this for the Minecrafters out there that are new to downloading world saves, Please do not pealt me with snowballs.

So, you have seen TONS of world saves and you have no clue how to use them? look no further! here is how to install a world save!

For windows

• Windows XP
  

1. Goto start
   
2. Run
   
3. type in "%appdata%" without quotes.
   
4. look for a folder named ".Minecraft"
   
5. click the folder and look for the folder named "saves"
   
6. click that and don't forget to extract the files from any Zipped folders it is contained in.
   
7. Drag the files (in this case a folder) into the saves folder
   
8. done :D
   

• Alternate method!
  

1. Goto your minecraft
   
2. go on "texture packs" on the title screen
   
3. when it opens press "up one"
   
4. click saves then do the same steps as step 6 and 7 on the last one
   
5. done :D
   

• Windows 7
  

1. Make sure to enable run on your start menu! otherwise you are ok!
   

how to enable
1: right click the little windows icon
2: click "properties"
3: Go on start menu tab on the window
4: click customize
5: Find the check mark "Run command"
6: now you can move onto the rest of the instructions!
2: type in %appdata% and press ok
3: again you should click ".minecraft"
4: click saves
5:drag the files into the folder (unless if it is zipped the unzip it)
6: Done :D

locate the folder where the world save was downloaded
click .minecraft
then saves
then drag the file into the folder
6.Play and enjoy :D

Linux:

Type ~/.minecraft/saves/ in your file manager's address bar, or in the terminal type cd ~/.minecraft/saves.
