Translated from old Enderian over the past few years, Stories of Grace the Great has been labeled a founding work in our culture and history, and with this new translation, it will be able to reach an even greater audience.

Two weeks ago our ship sank, and all died, except for me, and our party leader, Gracelyn.

Swimming ashore, we wandered through the woods for half a day before coming across a village.

The folk here are strange. Their language is similar but different to our current tongue.

Grace has dubbed them “villagers”.

They live in small, wood and stone shacks, simply constructed. They live on farming and fishing.

From what Grace has gathered, this particular village is named “Village-of-the-green-trees-and-blue-river-by-the-sea”. The villagers are long winded like this.

Grace has dubbed this town First Landing.

The villagers were initially skeptical. We did not know why, until on our third night.

There were men here, but something has changed them.

Zombies and skeletons, we call them, peak out from their caves at times of darkness.

They attack the villagers, killing their animals and destroying their crops.

Villagers, pasifistic, do not defend themselves. This is why their homes are so few and far between, and they tend to clump together.

But these monsters look just like any man back home, only they cannot speak. Some wield swords or bows, or have armor.

Also lurking in the woods are massive spiders, eight legged creatures that climb trees.

And the creepers, which have nearly killed us several times.

Anyway, these things attacked in our third night.

The villagers hid in their homes, and me and Grace in the blacksmiths hut.

But the doors began to be ripped open, and Grace took it upon herself to be a hero.

With a crude stone sword and leather armor, she paraded through the town, slaughtering most of the monsters. Some homes blew up, and she could not save all the villagers. By the break of day she was slowing down, hungry and beaten.

But the sun rose over the eastern hill, and the villains burned into crisps, or fled into the forest.

From here on, the villagers elected Grace “the great” leader of the town, and gave her the old lord’s mansion, where the last of the men here must have lived.

Over the next several days, Grace and I went on a mission, found the source of the monsters in the woods and caves and killed them.

One more thing to note is the religion the villages follow. They gather in their churches to worship “ender men”. Grace thinks this is preposterous, but I am deeply fascinated.

I thought it made sense to make them the “white walkers” of the world.

This is pretty good! I admire how you've stuck with the style and characteristics of a historical document, and with how you designed the Villagers' language to be familiar yet also quaint to our familiar tongue. Good job!
