YO I DIDN'T FORGET YALL THIS WEEK XDDDDD
Yeah, hi, here's the next chapter, I still don't own Yu-Gi-Oh, but trust me, if I did, we would have a sequel series, not just a sequel movie.

Enjoy! xD

Unable to access any of season zero (I had tried. Multiple times.) or the manga, I had to go off of faulty memory for the dialogue. And I’m pretty sure my interaction with Yami wasn’t the dialogue.

After a couple more days, the spirit still hadn’t needed to come back out, since his vessel wasn’t in danger. I sighed, bored out of my mind while the class talked about what they were going to do for the annual school festival. Honestly, I had never been a social person, so I honestly doubted I was going to go.

Anzu, as class representative, was taking votes. One kid suggested a haunted house, however, another class had taken that idea. Some others were suggested before Jounouchi stood up. I sighed, I had a bad feeling about this idea.

‘’Listen to my idea guys! The school festival is about entertainment, right?! So we have to show some guts to steal the audience from the other classes!’’ Jounouchi grinned, and I cringed, this was going to be horrible. ‘’That’s why I vote for using sex appeal! We’ll call it ‘The real high school girl cabaret!’ The girls will wear costumes to appear to every guy’s fantasy and-’’

‘’I wanna stop you right there Jounouchi,’’ I cut in, holding a toy hammer that I kept statched in my backpack, looming over him with a glare. He flinched and quickly sat back down in his seat. I nodded to Anzu and sat back down in my own seat, the hammer leaning against my desk.

‘’Okay, any other ideas?’’ Anzu asked, glaring at Jounouchi out of the corner of her eyes, and I let out a sigh, putting my chin down on the desk in a slouch.

‘’Costume contest!’’ One student suggested.

‘’Student pro-wrestling!’’ another threw out.

‘’What about you, Hanasaki?’’ Anzu turned to the small boy raising his hand calmly.

‘’Um… uh… gag manga!’’ he said. The entire class was silent, but I shrugged.

‘’That sounds cool,’’ I threw out. My words seemed to help the small boy cheer up a little.

‘’I’ll put them on the board,’’ Anzu told him, writing the options down on the board. ‘’Is this everything?’’

‘’Can’t we think of something exciting?’’ Jounouchi complained, and I cleared my throat, holding up my hammer, and he immediately shrunk back. ‘’Do you just carry a toy hammer around?’’

‘’Yes,’’ I replied smoothly with a deadpan. ‘’Yugi, you seem like you have a good idea,’’ I turned to the trinette behind me. Yugi blushed under the attention.

‘’Well… uhm, I was thinking… maybe something like games! Carnival Games! Y’know, like at an amusement park…’’ he trailed off. The class was silent for a little bit before they started discussing it fervently. The idea was a huge hit in the class!

‘’Then we’re all for Carnival Games,’’ Anzu declared. ‘’Next is what kind of games to do,’’ she continued, and the class began throwing out ideas.

‘’We have to have target practice.’’

‘’Bottle toss!’’

‘’Basketball free-throw!’’

I grinned and relaxed, having done my daily duty.

In the end, the class decided on three games: Bluebeard’s Attack (a kind of pop-up game), Bottle Toss, and a shooting gallery. Our budget was about 50,000 yen, and the only expensive things would be the Bluebeard’s minigame and building supplies. Anzu played her part and got the class a spot right by the entrance, too. With only three days left, everyone was working hard!

‘’The Bluebeard mask is finished!’’ Yugi exclaimed as we sat inside the nearly-completed booth, having finally finished the mask for the pop-up pirate game. I was working on an interactive class project I was supposed to do back home, but that didn’t really matter anymore. It was free-lance writing, however, and I like free-lancing.

‘’Hey Yugi! I’m almost done here too!’’ Jounouchi said as he hammered the final few pieces onto the barrel.

‘’Congrats Jounouchi, you’ve learned how to build a barrel,’’ I snickered.

‘’Ey! No one asked you for your opinion, Teal! Besides, what are ya doing?’’ He demanded an answer. I gulped.

‘’N-nothing!’’ I stammered, holding my notebook to my chest. I was holding Cocoa as my pen; however, with innocent bystanders around, she’s decided to keep quiet.

‘’Jounouchi-kun, you know Teal only reacts that way when it’s her writing,’’ Yugi cut in.

‘’Oh yeah,’’ the dumb blond realized, and I rolled my eyes. He climbed into the barrel to prove to Yugi how well he edited the barrel, grinning madly. ‘’I wonder who’ll be the pirate… I’ll get a good laugh out of ‘em!’’ He snickered.

‘’Why not you, Jounouchi?’’ Anzu asked, having walked over to watch.

‘’Erk?!’’ Jounouchi grunted.

‘’I made the mask to fit your head, Jounouchi!’’ Yugi added.

‘’WHAT?!’’

‘’Jounouchi is Bluebeard, illuminati confirmed,’’ I laughed. When Anzu looked at me weird (Yugi and Jounouchi were still talking) I waved her off. ‘’Gamer thing.’’

‘’What’s this?’’ A burly voice asked from outside, and I eeped at the size of this dude. What was with manga artists and making villains really big early on?! ‘’’Carnival Games…?’ How strange… there seems to be someone in our space!’’

Something in my mind clicked into place, and I recognized him as Goro Inogashira, the head of the senior Class D. ‘’What are you guys doing?!’’ Inogashira demanded

‘’Setting up for the school festival, what does it look like?’’ I rolled my eyes as my other persona came into play. I still didn’t fully understand it (her? Eh, who knows.) but it seemed to have come to an agreement not to try and influence my life very much.

That was Yami’s job, goodness gracious.

‘’Don’t be ridiculous! This school festival space is the stomping ground of senior Class D!’’ Inogashira scoffed. Yugi gulped and ducked behind me.

‘’What do you mean ‘stomping ground’?! We won this space in the lottery!’’ Anzu retorted.

‘’In the lottery…?’’ Inogashira mused, like he had never heard of the lottery before. However, he and his classmates started laughing, and I knew this wouldn’t be as simple as I realized.

‘’Listen up, underclassmen!’’ Inogashira began to somewhat preach. ‘’This is where we make okonomiyaki* each year! Get rid of these rotten carnival games! Beat it!’’

‘’Who the hell are you?! You’re the ones who’re gonna beat it!’’ Jounouchi yelled, but when trying to get out of the barrel, he found himself stuck, and I would have laughed if not for the giant elephant standing in front of me, threatening to destroy everything. Inogashira then punched Jounouchi out of the way (hey, it got him out of the barrel at least).

‘’Jounouchi!’’ Both Yugi and I screamed.

‘’Go, grill brigade!’’ Inogashira ordered his class, who were holding a large black grill which seemed like it hurt - and probably did. ‘’Break down the carnival games booth! Give ‘em the battering ram!’’

Our class tried to tell the upperclassmen to stop their destruction, but no such luck. I started growling, clenching my fists tight. I shook the pen (Cocoa, if you forgot) violently awake.

‘’What?!’’ She demanded.

‘’Manga!’’ I whisper-shouted. ‘’So stop napping!’’

‘’Awh.’’

‘’Take that!’’ Inogashira cackled. ‘’Feel the power of our six-inch thick, 50-serving grill! This spot is ours!’’

‘’Darn it!’’ Yugi exclaimed, shooting out from behind me.

‘’Yugi, what are you doing?!’’ I screeched.

‘’Does it matter?! He’s Yugi!’’ Cocoa yelled. I rolled my eyes, ignoring the comment, and began tracing the kanji for protection in the air, drawing blue lines. Thankfully, I was out of sight of everyone else. The spell hit the Puzzle (which wasn’t my original goal, but eh, works nonetheless) just as the boy jumped in front of the ram, which sent him flying into unconsciousness.

‘’Yugi!’’ Anzu and I yelled, rushing over. I checked him over, and was thankful to see my spell had worked, and the boy suffered no mental damage.

‘’All right! Leave the grill right here… in OUR space!’’ Inogashira ordered, and then he and his men walked off while our class looked on in depression.

In the end, from what I heard, our space had a large grill occupying it. I hadn’t been around much longer, having taken Yugi to the infirmary in Anzu’s place. I (or rather, my other persona) knew Anzu needed to be there to help everyone else, so I took the unconscious petite trinette to the nurse’s office.

It had been maybe a good hour before the small boy woke up. I smiled, having heard the boy’s stirring movements. ‘’Welcome back to the land of the miserable living, Yugi,’’ I joked, but there wasn’t the joyful response I was expecting.

‘’Where am I…?’’ He asked.

‘’The school infirmary. You got knocked out, but nothing was too badly damaged,’’ I told him.

‘’What about the Carnival Games…?’’ He got straight to the festival topic. I sighed and shook my head.

‘’There’s always next year…’’ I murmured, my other persona had left when Yugi woke up.

‘’What?! That’s no good!’’ Yugi sat up. ‘’We have to get that space back! It belongs to us!’’ He protested.

‘’It does…’’ I agreed, turning around, so I was facing away from the boy. I felt my mini charm start heating up, and watch it glow. ‘Guess your other persona would like a word…’ I smirked. I turned around to the boy-

-and sure enough, he was gone. Time to let him play his part.

He had expected Teal to follow him. After all, the small replica of the Millennium Puzzle that sat around her neck seemed to alert her to his presence.

But standing in the school courtyard, waiting for Inogashira (and Teal, too), the spirit of the Millennium Puzzle saw no sight of his companion-in-arms in sight. He hummed in thought, the girl was still a bit of an enigma. Cheery and brightful, with a bit of a shy side, easily flipped to protective and determined, with a flare of passion.

His thoughts turned to what happened to Yugi, making the spirit’s blood boil. The boy had been injured, but in mid-dash, an unknown magic had flooded the Puzzle, giving him enough magic to protect his host. He didn’t know where it came from, but he was grateful.

His thoughts were vanquished when the original voice he was waiting for appeared. ‘’So you’re the Yugi who called me out!’’ Inogashira said. ‘’You’ve got some guts.’’

‘Well, no duh,’ the spirit thought. ‘How many Yugi’s do you know?’

‘’So… what did you want to say about the festival?’’ Inogashira asked.

‘’You have trespassed on the souls of my class… including Teal! For that you must play a game with me…!’’ The spirit explained.

‘’Huh… what are you babbling about? Hey… you’re the kid who was whining earlier!’’ Inogashira realized, which made the spirit facepalm mentally. ‘’Shouldn’t you play your games with your mommy? Heh heh heh…’’

If there was one thing the spirit did not appreciate, it was being teased about his height. Fine, time to taunt back. ‘’If you have any guts… you’ll play this game with me!’’ A smirk found its way onto the spirit’s face. ‘’This Yami no Game!’’

‘’A game?!’’ Inogashira asked, and the spirit assumed he had thought the spirit had gone nuts, which he hadn’t. ‘’Heh heh… it’s beneath me to play games with a kid like you, but I’ve never backed down from a challenge… and I’ve always won! What kind of game are you talking about?’’

‘’We’ll play a game with this! The grill that you brought here!’’ The spirit explained. ‘’I’ve already heated it up! And the surface is hotter than 100 degrees Celsius…! Next, this block of ice! The test tube in the center is filled with explosives. If it touches the grill, one - or both - of us will be blown sky high! Then you can find out what okonomiyaki feels like…’’ the spirit chuckled. ‘’I call it ‘Griddle Ice Hockey’!’’

The spirit then held up two serving scrapers. ‘’We’ll use these instead of rackets,’’ he added. The ice puck fell onto the grill, and immediately began steaming. ‘’The loser gives up the right to this space at the school festival! Any problem with that, Inogashira?’’ The spirit asked.

‘’I’ll meet your challenge!’’ was the simple reply. The spirit smirked.

‘’Game Start!’’

‘’YAAH!’’ Inogashira grunted, slamming the ice puck to the spirit with his spatula. ‘’Put a spatula in my hand and no one can match me!’’ The burly male boasted. The spirit grunted as he sent the puck the other way with a strike.

‘’Huh?! The griddle’s heat is melting the ice!’’ Inogashira realized. ‘’It’s a moving time bomb! But, if I keep up my power and speed, the puck will be in enemy space when the ice melts and bomb explodes!’’

Honestly, the spirit didn’t know why every person he had faced off against so far liked to crow their plan while he was literally right there. One thing that caught him off-guard, however, was the sheer force the puck was sent back at. The spirit barely had any time to retaliate with a grunt.

‘His power and speed are amazing! That little piece of ice comes at me with the weight of a boulder!’ The spirit thought.

‘’Lookit that! It takes all you got just to send the puck back!’’ Inogashira taunted. ‘’My strength gives me the edge in this game! This is a piece of cake!’’ The puck went even faster towards the spirit, and the mere force needed to send it back sent the spirit flying a bit with an ‘Urk!’

‘I sent it back somehow, but… each time I return it, the recoil almost sends me flying!’ The spirit grunted. ‘How can I win..?!’

‘’Bwahaha! Let’s give it even more power!’’ Inogashira screeched. At the moment, an old memory struck the spirit, from a conversation a couple days ago.

~ Flashback ~

Yugi had been sitting on the couch, watching some show on the TV. Teal was on the chair near the couch and TV, drawing something.

‘’What are you drawing, Teal?’’ Yugi asked while the spirit watched from his floating position behind the couch. The girl looked up scared, but seemed to calm down after realizing it was Yugi. She turned her drawing tablet around to show a brunette female in a green top, black sleeves peeking out from underneath the t-shirt, and a black skirt. Her hair fell down her back, and her bangs seemed to fade to golden-yellow. The female had a purple sneaker and a magenta boot, and her eyes were the same amethyst color Yugi’s were.

‘’Wow, who’s that?’’ Yugi asked.

‘’Her name is Rory, and she’s the Guardian of the Delta,’’ Teal replied.

‘’Wow! Like a superhero?’’

‘’Kinda. Her father was a Guardian before her, but of a different kind, too. Actually, her father was only maybe a few inches taller than you,’’ Teal smiled and ruffled Yugi’s hair, much to the boy’s annoyance, but the glint in her eye told the spirit she knew more than she was letting on.

‘’Really?’’ Yugi asked, eyes shining in admiration.

‘’Yeah, and he was really powerful. He didn’t have as much power as his own parents, or his twin sister, but he used his opponent’s strength against them, and beat them all,’’ Teal explained. Yugi continued to wow over the character design, and the spirit smiled, knowing of Teal’s love for storytelling.

~ End Flashback ~

‘That’s it!’ The spirit realized. ‘I must use my opponent’s strength and speed against him!’ He lined up his spatula. ‘If this doesn’t work, I’ll lose!’ The ice puck was shoved back, but as Inogashira sent his hardest swing, he didn’t notice the crack in his until it was too late.

The puck had split open upon his swipe. ‘’W-what…?!?’’ Inogashira exclaimed, watching as the test tube fell onto the grill and exploded in his face. The spirit walked over to the unconscious form, the explosives in the tube weren’t highly explosive, he had put in enough just to knock him unconscious.

‘’As promised, we’ll take this space back!’’ The spirit declared to the unconscious boy. ‘’Just remember this! Those who trespass in my friends’ souls… will always get burned in the end!’’

As the spirit walked off, a sharp pain made itself known as the spirit shifted his weight onto his right ankle. Seething, the spirit came to the quick conclusion that he had twisted it when landing after being sent flying by Inogashira, and the adrenaline had finally worn off enough for his mind to register it.

Trying not to make his limp noticeable, the spirit began his trek home.

I had been sitting at home for the past few hours. Some time along the way, my charm had started glowing again, and since it didn’t glow whenever Yami let Yugi have control, the only possible reason was that he had initiated a Yami no Game.

I faintly heard the back door open and close, and footsteps lightly tread up the stairs. Peeking out my door, I saw Yami walking into Yugi’s room, and saw the limp. I quickly grabbed his hand, spinning him around, and put my other hand over his mouth as he (quite frankly) almost screeched.

‘’Shush!’’ I whispered as he stared at me with wide eyes. ‘’Don’t wake up Grandpa. Now get in my room.’’

He just blinked his very confused crimson eyes, but did as told, and I spotted the limp. Sighing, I went to get the first aid kit in the bathroom. When I returned to my room, I saw Yami sitting on my bed, looking very uncomfortable. I shut the door and sighed.

‘’Alright, start talking while I fix your ankle,’’ I said as I got down onto my knees and lightly gripped his ankle. The sharp intake was enough for me to know it was worse than he made it to be. I carefully took off his boot and sock while he watched. I lowkey whistled when I saw the large blue-purple bruise already forming.

‘’What did you do in your Game to make this happen? Because I know for sure this wasn’t from you getting hit by that ram,’’ I looked up at him. He sighed.

‘’I played a Game against Inogashira…’’ he caved in, and gave me all the details as I treated his ankle: Inogashira arriving, Yami explaining the rules, and the sheer force Inogashira had.

At the mention of the sheer force sending Yami flying, I hummed in confirmation. ‘’That’s how you got this, huh? When you were sent flying, you landed on it wrong.’’

‘’That’s what I think,’’ Yami replied. ‘’I didn’t notice at the time probably due to the adrenaline.’’

‘’Makes sense.’’

He continued with his story. I smiled when he mentioned my words having helped him, and by the time he was done, I had finished wrapping his ankle. I sat down on the bed next to him and gave him a big hug. He was obviously surprised before I explained.

‘’Thank you. For all you do for me and for Yugi,’’ I whispered.

‘’You know-?’’ He cut himself off. I pulled away, blushing a little.

‘’I don’t understand how others don’t. Sure, you haven’t been seen in school or in public, but all the people you’ve faced have only recognized you as Yugi…’’ I trailed off. He placed a hand on my shoulder.

‘’I don’t mind being unknown,’’ he admitted. I shook my head, smiling.

‘’Yeah, well, I can’t keep calling you Yugi,’’ I told him. ‘’So… what’dya say, Yami?’’ I held my hand out to him. After staring at me and then my hand, a small smile formed on his lips and he grasped it.

‘’Yami. Perfect.’’

‘’I knew you would like it. Now skedaddle, I’ve got festival plans to draw up.’’

‘’What, what-?!’’ But I had already shoved him out the door giggling.

Our class worked overtime - and overnight! - to get it back together, but the booth was completed in time for the festival, with help from some quick plans I had drawn up after shoving Yami out.

I laughed (well, more like my other persona did) as I watched Jounouchi get ejected from his barrel, the mask on his head.

‘’I feel bad for Jounouchi,’’ Honda muttered. I shrugged.

‘’Eh, he’s having fun deep down,’’ I replied.

The carnival games were a huge hit!

* - okonomiyaki is cabbage pancakes, or “Japanese pizza”

Blatant reference to Generation: Chaos. I'm proud of myself. XDDDD
Honestly, Yami is being just slightly adorable too XD

Anyways, hope y'all enjoyed, and I will see you all next week! ~Teal
