The first impression of Target Craft wasn't anything special, the spawn looked standard. Old plugins are used.. It seemed that the server was amateur, but then. some seconds later. I got the most warm welcome I ever had, and that from all the staff and community. I first played a bit around, seeing what the server existed of, while doing that I really enjoyed the treathment and offers I gain. After a day I told I was a reviewer, and I got a grand tour, some exclusive interviews. Every single thing about the server was no secret to me, and that proved that this server.. Is special, in a good way.
And this is why:
The Community:
The Community fascinated me, how many servers do have such a open and nice community these days? The one I met on Targetcraft, could actually run the server ( leaving hosting aside ). My first "undercover" session really made me feel like a VIP, and this I have rarely on servers.
The Content:
Even though Targetcraft has a unique & amazing community, you can't deny that their methods & plugins are quite old fashioned. There isn't really anything exclusive or amazing when looking at plugins, they still use the almost forgotten LWC alike plugin.. Though they have Towny, as that genre almost died in the community, you can say they have something unique afterall. But honestly spoken, its more the community you would enjoy. But I respect that they do not go with the stream, but stand for themselves, and use Towny. Because they like it.
The Staff:
The staff were equal as the community, open and extremely nice. I enjoyed talking with them, and all my questions where answered. Though, observing the staff for a while. You notice that they aren't cold blooded proffesionals like on Savage Realms, but being spoiled is better then left alone eventually. And to expect that the staff can be cold blooded and proffesional with such a warm community, is almost impossible.
The whole picture:
TargetCraft is old-fashioned at some points, but all makes up by its community. We should think honestly to ourselves, would a high-tech exclusive server be fun without a fun community? Probably not.
If you like Towny, and want a great community. I really suggest joining play.targetcraft.net. Though, if you really need to live with the latest plugins, you won't be "settled" there, and I suggest you should move on then.
