In Minecraft there a some really cool blocks. But as most players will find, there are some pretty useless ones as well. In this blog I will tell you my personal least favourites.

1. Birch Wood

Overall think think this block is very ugly and useless. As you will see many of the other wood types are marginally better than this wood type because they have a prettier design and is not needed as their are many other forms of tree in Minecraft. They are also very basic as they do not vary in shape or size much and are unpractical for treehouse building.

2. Daylight Detector

This block is impractical as it is only useable in a few Redstone builds and is a bit ugly.

3. Pillar Quartz

In Minecraft this block is really ugly and is nothing compared to other quartz based blocks. Another weak point is the fact that it takes two blocks of Quartz to make making it inefficient. Is it worth it??

4. Prismarine

In Minecraft this block is not very useful. It is really only used for building but personally I think Dark Prismarine is a better idea.

5. End Stone

In Minecraft I think this is a unpractical and ugly block. It is only really good as it is from the end and a easy block to come by their if your low on blocks. Their is also very little you can craft with it.

Runners up:

- Purpur Block
- Spruce wood
- Netherrack

Alright. So, birch wood is extremely useful. A birch forest is a common biome, and wood is essential. Secondly, prismarine is used to power a conduit, and is the easiest to get out of all prismarine blocks, rendering it quite useful. Third, endstone is excellent for building victorian buildings, since the brick version looks yellowed and worn. I agree with purpur, but spruce wood? Really? It goes really well with oak as well as dark oak. A ton of experienced builders, (such as myself), use spruce wood on a day to day basis. I would say the most useless block might be wet sponge.
