Pop Reel! :D
So I've been seeing a few tutorials on the Pop Reel lately. Some of them were good and nicely laid out, but still others were messy, unorganised, and probably uploaded as something to boost their XP above anything else. Also, waay too simple. We know how to kill creepers. We know how to kill them so that we blow them up for revenge. (don't ask :P). A tutorial should be of something that we might not know how to do, for example, making a mod, or making _jeb disco sheep. So, here's the main problems and how to not do them.
Simply Simple/XP Grinder
I hate these. This person wanted to be funny, or maybe they really wanted those extra, what, ten experience points?
PUT EFFORT INTO YOUR WORK PEOPLE! Really, you're sitting down to write a blog so write it good. You see that "Publish Live" checkbox? Uncheck it. It might take me two days to write something decent, or one session if I have a good amount of time to do everything.
Insanely Advanced
You're writing a tutorial for a reason. To teach us to do something that we don't know how to do. And if we don't know how to do it, we're not going to know all the terms and shortcuts. I just want to learn how to shade my skins hair, say, and don't want all this pro skinner gibbledygook. Just teach me to skin. Please. I need to know how to skin.
Unless you put in the title "Advanced" then please, please tone the complexity down. Not that you can't have advanced whatever tutotrials, which are completely fine by me.
No Pictures
(This paragraph got double spaced for some reason :P) This is fine by me if it something that doesn't really need pictures, like programming. But skinning tutorials, building tutorials, and especially drawing tutorials need pictures. I seriously am lost without a visual guide to show me what I should be doing VS what I am doing. I guarentee you, everybody will be messing up if you don't take the extra 5 or ten minutes to add pictures. It's really uite easy, all you do is email the image to yourself, then right click and select "Copy Image Location" and paste it in where it says to in the image adder thing. <---- And this folks, is why you add pictures! :D Failed, I am so, so sorry.
Yes, you do have time. You live in a first world country, correct? Oh, you need to pump out your blogs because your suscribers are getting bored? They can wait five more minutes. That's how long it will take per image.
In conclusion, You din't want it too simple or too complicated. Too simple and it's a joke. Too complicated ant I'm just going to leave. Seriously, if the first word I see as my eyes flick across the screen is "boolean" I'm going to leave (Not to say that programming tutorials are bad, I could actually use a lot of them, I just picked that word and concept because I can't seem to grasp it.). And add pictures. You have the time to take a screenshot. You have the time to upload them.
Heere comes the fail TARDIS!
