So you got MCedit. You're probably wondering how to use it. This tutorial tells you the basics of using MCedit. When you extracted the files, run it. Load or create a world to start.
1. Select tool
This is the main tool. To use it you select an area. When you selected a space you have a few choices. You can also modify blocks like chests, signs, dispensers, and monster spawners by double clicking them. You can do this by double clicking the block. Signs can have special color. Spawners can be modified to change what they spawn. For example, if you don't want to have that stupid pig spawner, you can change it to a ghast spawner, a wither spawner, or even an enderdragon spawner.
2.Brush tool
Using this you can place any block that exists in Vanilla Minecraft. You can choose the size and shape of the block area. Example: Size= x,3 y,3 z,3 Shape= Square. This makes a 3x3x3 cube. The 3 tools to its right are used with the select tool.
1a. Clone
This tool, i believe, clones a block. I haven't used it at all, so i won't be able to explain it.
1b. Fill
Haven't used this tool either. I think it will fill in a space with the block you selected. Just dont use the entire world. Guaranteed suffocation.
1c. Filter
This tool, however, I HAVE used. I won't explain it all with one single tool description, so i'll just give an example of one thing it can do. If you think zombies are too low on health for a map, you can give it a health boost effect. Just make sure to select that red translucent cube in the map.
3.Import
Import lets you insert a schematic into the game.
4.Move player
You can move any player that has ever joined that world.
5.Move spawn
Like the move player, this tool moves the spawn. It's almost like placing a block. Just make sure you recognize the SPAWNER WITH A STEVE HEAD INSIDE!
6.Chunk control
This is somewhat like the select tool. The only problem is you can only select full chunks. (Chunks are 16 blocks in the x direction, 255 in y, and 16 in z. There is also a way to see what chunk you are in by pressing the F3 button, in your normal minecraft world.) Prune will remove all chunks that are not selected and all that stuff.
