We shall spread!
The one and only day in a life of a mold cell-
and how she sees it


I wake up from my birth. I ascend with my sisters into the new life awaiting for us. Our mother was born with one goal- to give birth to me. To love me. To nurture me. To become me, by splitting herself in two. And so was her mother. And her mother.

But me, I am different. I shall grow. I shall follow the sunlight, I shall feed, I shall become the true leader of my race. And NOBODY will stop me. Nobody can. They know I am different. They can see that I am different. I have not seen my face, but I know I’m different.

We swell in the darkness, growing larger and larger, for the day we become truly the only one on this Earth. And I shall lead us to that moment. We have almost reached one corner. My sisters, they spread, their missions are just to do that. Our sorority is mentally connected to me, their one true leader. And I will lead them to the edges- will shall rule this Earth. This light blue Earth. Covered in filth and dust. Covered in humidity and moisture. And all that we crave is sunshine. We shall overrule them all and be the leaders of this Earth of ours. We shall be the main race from all the bacteria and fungi that ever tried to walk this Earth.





Days pass. I don’t know how long it has been. I feel try. I am hungry. I am dying. I failed my race. There…there’s something wrong with me. I don’t feel fine. Yes, it must be death. Come, Grim Reaper, swing your scythe and leach out the life from me. I am not worthy of leading our race. But, what is this? The sunlight, it’s coming for us?! It want to support us- lead us into it! All hale it!

Wait! Do my eyes deceive me? Sisters! You have spread far beneath the corner of Earth- what witchery is this? Are…are we not alone? Is there more to explore? Wait, what is that smell? Sisters? Why are you screaming?! SISTERS?! SISTERS?!

H.E.L.P.

The legends were true. The eliminator has came for all of us. The “brush”. And it spreads liquid doom onto all of us. Into form of Earth blue. Just, brighter, better, more powerful. Is this really my d-Wait. What is going on?! I… I am spreading. My tissue is tearing apart. I… I’m dying! NO! I’m giving birth. Was I…was I never meant for anything else? Was I never supposed to be a leader?

Anyways. It is too late. For all of use. But before I die, you need to know that...
