I know it sounds impossible, but just imagine, no getting trolled as you find diamonds, no creepy hissing sounds, 99% less death. Imagine!
Well basically what I am trying to say is that, if creepers were friendly, they could be pretty useful.
Protection
If you are in a bit of a bad situation, like being attacked by hundreds of mobs at the same time [Bit of an over exaggeration] the creeper would go full suicidal to protect you.
Mining
If you really cannot be bothered trying to destroy and area but you have no TNT. You could ask the creeper politely to help you out. Which would be pretty nice.
Basically that is all a creeper would do but remember 99% LESS DEATH.
