What makes me a Minecrafter: Pride

TEXT VERSION:
______________________________________________________________
To be a Minecrafter means to be able to experience and hold onto a little thing called pride. We all know what it is, and I’m sure we’ve all felt it- even if we don’t specifically call it pride at the time. You know it as that little feeling of joy you get when you look upon something that you’ve achieved. You are proud. And Minecraft is simply overflowing with chances to feel that pride. To be a minecrafter is to be someone who achieves what they want.

That’s the great thing about Minecraft, there is just so much to achieve. You don’t need to be a great builder. You don’t need to be great at Pvp. All you have to do is be proud of what you achieve and have the time of your life. How many of us can remember their first Minecraft base? I know that mine was a literal hole in the ground. The first ever thing I did when I got Minecraft was dig out a little cavern and plop down a crafting table. It wasn't much, and I knew that, but when I looked at it I felt the satisfaction of knowing I had made it from nothing. It was a hole in the ground, but it was MY hole in the ground. And I was proud of it. I hope we can all feel the same way. For your builds hold value, even if they might not seem like much they are yours and you can be proud of that fact. And now, as the years have passed I can see the growth of my ability. I went from holes in the ground, to cobble cubes, and gradually progressed to all sorts of things, like castles and villages, and other types of wonderful creations. There are definitely better builders than me out there, but I can still look at my projects and be happy. That is what Minecraft has given us- the ability to be proud of our own work. And perhaps even more.

I want you to think about all you've done on this wonderful game. Be it hours, days, or even years of playing we have all had our little achievements and victories. How amazing does it feel to have won a round of survival games? Or any mini game for that matter? Or maybe just to beat someone in a Pvp battle. It's not just our builds that can give us pride, it is our achievements. I still remember my first hunger games victory and I have logged far too many hours playing build battles, and of course along the way I have made numerous friends. These are all the little things that made me happy playing to be Minecraft. Anything that makes us happy is something to be proud of, and being a Minecrafter can give us so many happy moments. Most of us know that the real magic of Minecraft comes from the people, the players, the Minecrafters, that we meet. Servers can rise and fall, people can come and go, but the happy memories remain. I know that I have been through many servers in my years, but the pride of knowing that I played with someone that shares our passions, that stays. All of the happy moments can come together to form a lasting memory, and an identity as a minecrafter.

That is what makes me a Minecrafter. I am proud to say that I have built so many things in this game, from humble beginnings to towering ends. I am proud to know that I have won and enjoyed games of all sorts; from PvP, to building, to parkour races. And most of all I am proud to be able to say I have played with so many wonderful people and made so many friends. There have been certain servers and certain people that will remain in my memories for the rest of my life, and I am so happy to have had those experiences. That pride, that happiness, that is what Minecraft has given me, and I hope all the rest of us can join me in saying, “I am proud to be a Minecrafter.”

And I know it's annoying to see people beg, but a diamond/comment/favorite would really be appreciated!

Thanks again, and good luck everyone!

Thanks for the kind words!

And there are still two days for people to enter, and I've seen quite a few promising submissions thus far (yours included!) so it's going to be a hard fought first place! Good luck =)

Thanks, I tried to veer away from what everyone else was doing while still remaining true to the contest prompt. =)
