why don't mods work with modloader

can someone help me I cant get my mod to work its called too many items. I've tried other mods and they don't work. plz can someone help

but the minecraft.jar its in bin but if you want to reach it type in the search from start and type %appdata% then go to roaming then go to .minecraft then to bin and go to the minecraft.jar and press right click and press in open with WinRar or if you have 7zip and put the folder in the modloader then put the folder in the too many item And Enjoy :)

Go to planetminecraft.com and then go to search and type too many items and if you download it in the games alone it will give you black screen but i will tell you now download modloader then toomanyitem and put them in the minecraft.jar then Enjoy
