Hey guys, TCG here. Over the passed few months I havent been active, due to reasons I would much rather not go into detail about, but without further ado, I am back on PMC :D Expect more from me!
Why Is Minecraft So Underrated?
I dont think I have ever heard a person tell me "Minecraft? That sounds like a cool game!"
I have always wondered to myself, why do people hate on minecraft? They havent even played it before.... That is the exact point. Before my cousin introduced me to this game, I thought it was bad, annoying, had bad graphics, thats what most people nowadays still think. Once I got the hang of things in the game, it kind of made more sense to me, about the games true aspect, and goal. When you here about it, it seems like some sort of game where you walk around in a world of 16x16 pixels, blocks, and punch trees with your fist as trees miraculously float. The game seemed goalless, and you can have it like that if you want.
Another reason for this, is due to the name of the game. Minecraft.
I'll admit it right now.... sounds like the name of a 8 year old drawing game. On the other hand, we have World of warcraft, Call of Duty, Modern Warfare, Halo. Then there was Minecraft. To most teenages, the name doesnt seem so attractive, Call of duty has high graphics, walking around with a gun, sniping people, gamemodes. Well little did they know, that you can do that in minecraft, as well as 500 other minigames/gamemodes. You could get a high resoluted resource pack, with bows as guns, arrows as ammunition, and the sounds of guns being fired. Its not that hard. Minecraft can simply been anything that your mind can create.
Graphics are another cause. Nowadays, us human teenages tend to be judgemental, especially over video games. Doesnt look all high resoluted, fancy, that doesnt make it a bad game in any sorts. Dont judge a book by its cover, or as most teenages nowaday should hear: Dont judge a game by its resolution. It may sound stupid, but its true. The only reason it may sound stupid to you is because if you are reading this right now, there is a 100% chance that you play minecraft. On the other hand, we have those who are used to These high defined games. I know this because of school friends, who are COD fans.
Lego is blocks, Minecraft is blocks. Do you see teenage boys making lego castles nowadays? I thought the same. Teenages intake lego as a childs toy, and as minecraft is easily relatable to lego, they presume minecraft is a childs game. But minecraft is a game where you can play any game in one. You can make your own game in a game by using redstone and command blocks, if you want to learn. its all about learning, enjoying the game, and not judging it. Only judge a game until you know the true meaning of a game.
Minecraft is more than breaking blocks. There is something called Multiplayer. Where you can either break blocks with mates, or play minigames such as, Hunger Games, Survival Games, Spleef, Cature the Flag, Mob Arena, Call of Duty (yes), I could go on for a few dozen more years.
Ending it off quickly, these are the main causes of minecraft judgements. Most people just need to actually play the game, get a feel of the true aim and gameplay, before you can decipher whether or not it is actually a bad game.

It is fun, and helps me destress.
Only problem is the price tag....
