Let me start of by saying that this may or may not happen. Who knows? I certainly don't. Feel free to voice your opinion in the comments!
As you have most likely heard, Notch has sold Mojang for 2 billion USD (although some are saying it is 2.5 billion), however, for the purpose of this Blog I will relate all maths to GPS which is otherwise known as £.
Microsoft is a very successful company who has managed to get to be one of the top of the food chain in the computer industry and they did not get there by bumb luck. Microsoft has time and time again made profits in most of what they do. This causes a problem. No one in Microsoft bought Minecraft for the hell of it...
I have done my maths! (Yeah, after all of that time complaining that I would never need it in real life) The truth is, if Microsoft continues to sell Minecraft at it's current price (£17.95 remember I am using £) then they will have to sell a total of 68439969.9164 accounts! Thats almost 70 million (Did I read that right? Meh, i'm sure someone will tell me)
Now call me insane, but I don't see that happening today, tommorow or in the next 10 YEAR! So it is fair to say that Minecraft might introduce DLC. How would you like it if your updates started costing money? If we are lucky then they will stay away from that and just add cosmetic DLC like capes and other things. I bet you are cynical about his entire blog, yes? Well don't forget that the Xbox version has DLC and who controlls that? OH YEAH IT MICROSOFT
So what do you think, will Minecraft have DLC, will they be paid updates or just cosmetic? Have your say in the comments!

Minecraft rakes in boatloads of money from licenses to Lego and other companies making Minecraft merchandise, not to mention the $20 price tag for the console editions.
