Advanced Monsters Datapack

This datapack adds the chance for normal monsters to become advanced monsters. These monsters are faster, stronger and have more lives, so the game becomes a bit more difficult. That is all.

🔧 Settings
The command: /scoreboard players set $transform_chance admo.data <number>can be used to set the probability of spawning the advanced monsters. The probability is calculated with 1 / the set number. Example: If you set as the number 20 the probability is 5% (1 / 20 = 0.05 = 5%).
If the number is 1, every monster is advanced. If the number is 0, no monster is advanced.

📊 Bug reports:
I do test my datapack, but I do not find all the bugs. To improve the quality, it helps a lot if you tell me about any bugs you find, so I can fix them. You can do this either on the ​Planet Minecraft website as a comment or on the GitHub website as an issue. To help me better, it would also be handy if you debug the datapack. You can do this by simply run the command
/function #2mal3:neel/debugand write the displayed message into the bug report.

⚡ Performance
Normally, the datapack has almost no noticeable impact on performance, but at very high mob spawn rates (large servers, mob farms, etc.) there may be small lags.
✅ Compatibility with other datapacks
The datapack should be compatible with most datapacks as long as they are not:
  • Change blocks at 9232029 1 6397680
  • Remove all forceloaded areas
  • Use monsters whose names or abilities are important (Unimportant if this datapack follows the datapack conventions).

🔄 Updating
Just replace the old datapack file with the new one and reload the world. The rest is done by the datapack.
♻ Uninstallation
  • Execute the command /function #2mal3:admo/uninstall
  • Confirm that you want to uninstall the datapack
  • Optional: Delete the datapack file from the datapack folder of the world
  • Reload the world

Fascinating. It would be cool if there were custom textures for these advanced mobs. If you know how to add that, I would be glad to provide skins for them

overall pretty epic, for some reason, every mob is an advanced one, and stone buttons gives me +10% mob range, +50% health and damage and a few other effects if put on the head. It did not let me put it on my head. Great data pack overall/

Hello, Great mod. I was wondering if you could explain a bit more on how to reduce the chance of a mob becoming advanced? I can see the random.json but not clear what to do. Any help would be great. Thanks

When you open the file (it is a text file), you should see the following text:{"pools":[{"rolls":{"min":1,"max":10},"entries":[{"type":"item","name":"minecraft:stone","weight":1,"functions":[{"function":"set_count","count":0}]}]}]}
To adjust the probability now, you have to change the number behind the "max". With a higher value less advanced monsters are spawned and with a lower value more (the probability is 1 / the number).

After adjusting the number, you must save the file and re-enter the world to load the new probability.

Ohhh ranked monsters. I remember this back before I had mods. They were really tough! I remember seeing a Skeleton go Flash and come charging me from the distance and not going for my 'dodge and weave' strategy at all lol Scary.

Hey I believe this pack uses splash potions to power up the mobs? I had a complaint on my datapack that they sometimes heard a splash potion sound when using my datapack with yours.

My pack summons shulkers to highlight ore blocks around the player when they drink a potion. These shulkers spawn with a "global.ignore" tag used by many datapacks so that other datapacks ignore them when running functions on entities. Can you implement this in your datapack?I believe your pack is choosing some shulkers to make advanced.

I see. I use splash potions in my datapack for the advanced monsters, the shulkers you use are sometimes classified as advanced and thrown with the potions.
Luckily I'm in the process of adjusting my datapacks to work with other datapacks. This takes a bit of time because I don't have that much time right now, but it should be updated in about a week.
