Required Resource Pack
155
With the addition of copper in 1.17, there is now a sufficient amount of metal in Minecraft to make a themed dimension. This pack adds that dimension to your world; it can be visited via an included new portal, or with the good ol' execute:
To create your portal from the Overworld to Aes or vice versa, create a standard-sized nether portal frame with Blocks of Iron, and dump a bucket of lava into the frame to activate it.
Aes is a totally metallic landscape - the surface is covered with Weathered Copper, over layers of regular Copper underneath. This allows for an effect very similar to grass and dirt - the top layer is green, and when its blocks are broken, reddish-brown blocks are exposed underneath (that become green over time!). As well, the water in Aes is a rich, gleaming copper color instead of blue.
The local 'vegetation' consists of:
•piles of iron blocks and iron bars
•what look like 'growths' of iron bars in scattered patches
•more 'growths' of copper in various stages of weathering for variety
•very rare scattered gold block patches
You'll also rarely find massive cog structures that have generated on the surface, made of solid iron. Ideally, I'd like to have them generate 'sunken into the ground' rather than totally sitting on top - but this is my first data pack, and I haven't figured out how to do that yet! They generate sunken halfway into the ground, which I've been able to accomplish with the help of some tips from WilliamWythers.
It's a very cool place to explore (and mine, obviously). There is no day, no night, no weather, no pesky mobs or creatures - just you and all kinds of metal. Enjoy!
P.S.: The included resource pack is strongly recommended when using the data pack - it supplies the appearance of the fluid portal. Nothing else is really changed by the resource pack (meaning it will stack well with other packs you might want to use), however technically the copper block texture & 3 weathered stages of it were updated to remove the pesky bolts.

Update #1 : by Baroque Obama 01/09/2021 11:01:52 pmJan 9th, 2021
Successfully managed to make the cog structures generate sunken into the ground, especially with help from WilliamWythers!
Also successfully managed to make the noise settings behave, resulting in a much more varied landscape, more water, and more beautiful world generation in general.
Updated project photos - some of the updated photos were taken without the resource pack enabled. As a result, the copper in the pics has bolts, while you won't actually see any filthy bolts with the attached resource pack.

If you want to DM me with details of what happens/doesn't happen, and an error log if applicable, I'll do my best to sort you out :).
Survival is... dangerous lol
Is that right?
I feel like I've come a long way since this pack - my newest project, Minecraft: Master of Time and Space, incorporates teleportation to the ground level of certain dimensions. Once it's complete, I'll implement a similar change here.
Thanks a lot for taking the time to let me know about this issue and your experience :)
And another point: if map is reload for another datapack, the bug return!
