Adds naturally-spawning, custom-built villages to the Sparse Jungle biome! Village builds are inspired from a variety of ancient Mesoamerican cultures including Aztec, Maya, and Olmec.
Part of the Thunderbirds Village Collection!
COMPATIBILITY - This datapack should play well with any other worldgen pack, as long as the Sparse Jungle biome still exists in the world. However, it will not by default add villages to non-vanilla biomes. Compatible biomes can be edited by altering the biome tag #tbirds:has_structure/village_aztec.
To Locate a Village:
/locate structure tbirds:village_aztec
To Manually Spawn a Village:
/place structure tbirds:village_aztec
(/place is not recommended, it usually doesn't come out looking very good. /locate is generally a much better option)
So far, this is the village with the largest number of collectible banners... most of which aren't even shown on this page. Have fun finding them all!

However, I have a couple advices for it, I hope these help.
1.- If you still can, I suggest you change (at the very least) the texture of very important buildings like the temples, the ball game and the house adjacent to the main temple, which seems to be of greater importance, usually, important buildings in mesoamerica were covered with stucco, or lime plaster for two reasons: 1- aesthetics: in general, bare stone was considered uglier, it did not fit the beauty standards of architecture at the time, and thus when people could afford it, they covered structures with different covers, by far the most popular is stucco, but you also have commoner houses covered with mud, I believe those primitive technology channels show something similar, wood-made houses coated with mud, adobe was also used for houses. Anyway, the colour used depended on the region, in the maya area, most temples were painted red, although there are exceptions, like blue for some chaac temples and very few cases of white. In the mexico valley and adjacent areas in the period of the aztecs, most buildings were covered in white stucco, the natural color, this is so easy to look that if you only google "tenochtitlan" you'll notice. So it's your choice to see where do you wanna draw the most inspiration from. 2.- Functionality: Obviously no one likes walls that drip, stucco coverings solved that. And one last thing: Main roads and the most important parts had also stucco covers, for example: the acropolis, the main temple complex in most settlements, is distinguished by sitting atop stone platforms covered in stucco.
