CCTV Cameras Datapack

Description

This datapack adds in working CCTV cameras to minecraft without mods. It only requires the datapack and the resource pack! You can use this in survival and on servers too without any problems. When you place and configure the CCTV camera, you can link a camera monitor to it by dropping the monitor item onto the camera and waiting for it to link. Once it is linked, you can view it from anywhere by simply just right clicking in the item. Once you are done viewing, just sneak and it will return you back to your location.

Obtaining

To get these items, it is as simple as throwing some items on the ground (Note: do not place the blocks, just throw them as items):
Camera: Drop/throw an Eye of Ender and Iron Block on the ground to give you the camera
Camera Monitor: Drop a Black Concrete and Iron Ingot on the ground to give you the Camera Monitor.

Using the items

Firstly you will need to place down the camera. Make sure to place it on a ceiling with a block above it as that is currently the only place where it can be placed. When you have placed it, it will face towards you. When you have made sure everything is in the right place, get your Camera Monitor and throw it on the camera. When it has successfully linked it will send a chat message. If it doesn’t link first time, try it from another angle. When it is linked, congratulations! You now have a working camera!

To view the camera through the camera monitor, just hold a linked Camera monitor in your hand and right click. It will spawn a player model at your location and show you the camera screen, which updates in real time. Once you are done, hold the sneak/crouch button and it will teleport you to your previous location. (Note: if anyone comes within 5 blocks of your previous location, you will get automatically returned to your previous location)

Removing the items

If you want to destroy the camera, just throw a TNT item on the camera. The camera will then get destroyed, and you will get both your camera and the TNT back. You can place and destroy as many cameras as you would like in your world and they will all work fine!
