CHIMERABOT'S WAYPOINTS - MINECRAFT DATAPACK

By Chimerabot

Thanks for checking out this datapack! It's taken a while to develop, and I hope you consider downloading it. It adds two major items to Survival Mode- the Waypoint and the Micropoint. Both create particle beams with a wide variety of uses. Screenshots of the recipes for each of the items is above.

Download Process
  • Download "Chimerabot's Waypoints.zip" from this page.

  • Open Minecraft, and select the world you want to use the data pack in. Before you start up the world, click the "Edit" button, and then click the button in the editing menu titled "Open World Folder".

  • Unzip the .zip file you downloaded before, and put the folder inside it in the "datapacks" folder for your world.

  • Enter your world, type /reload in chat, and the data pack should start working.

  • Make sure the resource pack is loaded as well, in Minecraft's resource packs folder. You can open it through the options menu on the home screen.

The Waypoint: This item, a custom block, is based on a Dropper. You can put multiple crystals (described below) inside at once, meaning that you can create any color particle beam you want. Each different-colored crystal produces a different-colored beam. The beam always extends hundreds of blocks both up and down on its own. If you place a Quartz block on top of the Waypoint, it directs the beam downward. When a Quartz Block is placed below the Waypoint, it directs the beam upward. It is crafted with three Crying Obsidian, two Smooth Stone, one Redstone Lamp, and one Quartz.

Colored Crystals: These can be crafted with one Quartz and one of another specific item (screenshots above). When placed in a Waypoint, they induce a specific color of beam. You can place multiple crystals in the same block for any color combination you want. They are also used to craft Micropoints.

The Micropoint: Micropoints are similar to smaller versions of Waypoints, except they only have one color and must be placed on Quartz Blocks. They can be crafted with one Crying Obsidian, one Quartz, and one of any color of crystal. But you can't craft them on a normal crafting table; they have to be crafted in the Waypoint's GUI. They can also be placed on any face of a block, allowing for some new building possibilities.

Unfortunately, not yet. This datapack is pretty old and I haven't updated it in a while. When I do get to it though, those are some features I'm planning to add

could you try making it so that it doesn't destroy my frames because this is a cool pack and even with my NVidia card it hurts my frame

Unfortunately I don't think I can avoid the lag. If you're running a shader or something, that might be causing some frame drops. Otherwise, just avoid placing too many beams in one place, because that's a guarantee for lag even if you're using Optifine (which I do).
