Original, unupdated/dead version: ClearLag Datapack
This datapack is advanced as it uses methods from server software like Spigot and Paper to optimize performance!
You can configure many settings and even enable a small anti-crash for your server, which prevents extreme lagging using armor stands.
Click on the message on reload or use the following command to change the settings:
Works on Vanilla, Bukkit, Spigot, PaperMC, all forks of PaperMC and modded servers (Fabric, Forge possibly).
The methods this datapack uses to reduce lag:
Also, the data pack is really performant so it shouldn't create any lag on its own.
Note: You should always prefer server software such as Paper because it has a lot more customizable options and overall performance that data packs can never reach. You should only use this datapack if you cannot use another server software.

function clearlag:menu
Works on Vanilla, Bukkit, Spigot, PaperMC, all forks of PaperMC and modded servers (Fabric, Forge possibly).
The methods this datapack uses to reduce lag:
- Shorter item/experience orb despawn time (important items and items after dying wont get removed)
- Automatic clears which remove all items in a configurable interval
- Freezes unused entities
- Merges experience orbs
- Removes collision from farm animals
Also, the data pack is really performant so it shouldn't create any lag on its own.
Note: You should always prefer server software such as Paper because it has a lot more customizable options and overall performance that data packs can never reach. You should only use this datapack if you cannot use another server software.
Some other performance tips
- Change the server.properties value "view-distance" and "simulation-distance" to lower values, e.g. 8 and 4 is usually enough.
- Lower the maxEntityCramming gamerule. The data pack could do this too, but it can break many farms and confuse players. Use "/gamerule maxEntityCramming <value>", default value is 24, changing it to 12 often improves performance a lot.

In the meantime, just comment out the `team join CLnocollision ` command in 3sec.mcfunction (line 35).
Just interested, why do you need it? It heavily can improve performance on some servers/worlds.
