Notes & Instructions:

This page lists the download for a Datapack to modify the loot tables of Endermen, as well as the "required" Resource Pack that changes the skin of Endermen to EnderSanta. Download both the Datapack and the Resource pack together for the best experience!!

1. Click the blue "DOWNLOAD DATA PACK" button above
2. Directly below the blue download data pack button there is a "Required Resource Pack" drop down menu, click it then click the blue "DOWNLOAD REQUIRED RESOURCE PACK" button that appears
3. Place the zipped "EnderSanta Resource Pack" zip file into your client installation's "resourcepacks" directory
4. Unzip the datapack and place the unzipped "EnderSanta" directory and it's files into your world/save "datapacks" directory
5. Launch Minecraft and open your world (or if your world was already open, save and close it then re-launch) then press Escape and open the Resource Packs menu and add the EnderSanta resource pack to your game

The datapack and resource pack have only been tested in 1.17 and 1.18 but should work on any version with Endermen.

It is widely believed that the legend of Santa Claus originated with an Enderman; the truth has been lost to time, but some village elders still tell the story to travelers passing through their village. Accounts of the tale vary from village to village, but all stories start one cold winter night, high atop the snowy peaks....

Steve and Alex brace and shiver against the frigid winds as the night and snow bear down on them. With no shelter in site, they setup a meager camp and warm themselves as best they can.

As the moon rises and temperatures fall, so too does the light from the embers of their last campfire. The warmth quickly dying, and with no logs left to craft another campfire, things looked bleak with dawn and more fuel for fires so close, yet so far away.

Just as the last embers light waned, a soft crunching noise of light feet on snow pierced the darkness. The adventurers, too cold and weary to be prepared to defend themselves, steadied their weapons as best they could manage. Moments later, they saw what appeared to be red eyes, not evil, but warm and inviting, coming towards them.

Steve and Alex look at each other wondering who or what it could be. Surely it was no spider with eyes so high above the ground and so few footsteps in the snow. They squint their eyes against the snow and wind to peer deeper into the dark to catch a glimpse of their visitor only to see the eyes disappear with a sudden noise.

Before they could react, the visitor was next to them both, arms outstretched with the most beautiful gift they'd ever seen. A single Oak log, begging to be crafted into a campfire to fend off the biting chills. Before they could continue their gaze beyond the gift, they knew who the mysterious visitor was....

EnderSanta, bearing tidings of joy and the gift of fire, putting aside the long-practiced art of aversion and anger that his kind is best known for to share an evening in peace and harmony for all living creatures that night.
