It's been around about eight months since the last update was made to Fanta Craft, and unfortunately it will still be a little bit longer until more updates come out. Despite that one shortcoming however, we wanted to make sure we got something special out for everyone for the holidays, and what better way to do that than with Fanta Craft's very own mascot, the Geode. It has a new, more vanilla friendly look, as well as a fun new counterpart in the underground.
THIS PACK HAS A RESOURCE PACK THAT REQUIRES OPTIFINE WITH CUSTOM ENTITY MODELS ENABLED.
This datapack is all about adding two new mobs to the underground to fit the new adventures of Minecraft's 1.18 Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update. The first and more common mob is the Geode, a crystalline mob that spawns below the surface, and more heavily near the underground geode structures. It is not very difficult to fight, but it should provide more incentive to go caving and look for geodes, especially if you like amethyst, as it will drop crystal shards. The second mob that we added is down in the deep. Initially, 1.18 planned on adding the Warden, to make you more cautious about trying to venture into the deepest parts of the underground before you were ready. That changed however when the deep dark was pushed back into 1.19. We still wanted to keep that feeling of the bottom of the world being a dangerous place, so we decided to add a fun new friend, the Eruption. Spawning down near deepslate, the Eruption will be found naturally dormant, and will wake up if either damaged or approached by a player. It is hostile to all other mobs, as it is very territorial and doesn't want anything or anyone to disturb its slumber. If you manage to kill one, there's a chance you'll be pleasantly surprised with its loot.
The Resource pack is in the download "Geoditis - Unzip Me.zip", and the folder called "Geoditis - Resource Pack" is the resource pack folder. Drag that into the Minecraft resourcepacks folder and you'll be good to go.

Having done some play-testing of it, I can see where you're coming from. It does move too quickly for the amount of damage it does, it needs to be easier to get away from. The eruption is meant to be a guardian of the lower caves early game, to add more challenge and adventure to the game. Because of that, its health is not likely to change to make it a more of an obstacle early-game than big game. Its damage is very high and we will test out other values for it. Its loot has potential to be good, but is intentionally rare to avoid sending players to their deaths hunting treasure.
