Minecraft gameplay in general is incredibly silent, from exploring the world to mining in giant caves, it's always so boring and not thrilling at all. Immersive Sounding was created to solve this problem, it will bring you more realistic and athmospheric sounding to your gameplay.

It just replaces vanilla one in resource packs, so you need to remove the lines from sounds.json in assets/minecraft and delete the .ogg files inside assets/minecraft/sounds/weather.

I put the resource pack into the saves folder of my world and renamed it resources.zip and everything and the pack loads all fine. There are no problems. The only thing is that everytime I load up the world the datapack thinks I don't have the resource pack on because I have it in the saves folder. Is there a way to disable the text?

It should not show if you are using the resourcepack, doesn't matter if its through resources.zip or the default method. I'll analize this if I somehow fix it I'll release an update. Thanks for the feedback.

You can set this in /trigger ImmerSounding. "Only Vanilla" might be what you want, but you can have both custom and vanilla working without a problem.

I stumbled across Yekonaip's music a while ago. If you want another soundtrack, try Weather by Nomadic Bard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqsrATCo-QE&list=PLXyErkimJt8wb7-_iLzFWaoixjkXd8JAO&index=236&t=0s

When I put this pack in my server folder it throws an errorCouldn't parse loot table immersive:on_nether com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: Unknown biome 'minecraft:nether'
This might just be a problem with the new biomes added by 1.16.

Another problem is that the clientside resourcepack makes the achievement popups in the top right corner transparent

Nevermind, looked at the resourcepack and it seems to be on purpose that the toast background is transparent and the language entries are changed?

This is amazing! I always thought that Minecraft gets too quiet after a while. This certainly makes things more immersive and even adventurous.

Thanks Mojang for the data packs, I'm usually not too much into deep modding, so these soft mods hits the spot.

Absolutely love this datapack, been using it my server and have been experimenting with some of my own audio. Would love to know if you could provide some insight on how it works - How does the sound detection work? I noticed I cannot add any more loop.ogg files after 6, is this limited in minecraft code or does the scoreboard reset after 6? Is there a way to alter this? I've been meaning to try and add some more unique sounds for our game, and would love to learn more about it.

Glad you like it! There is no limit, this limit can be increased in the datapack files. It basically checks what biome the player is using predicates, combined with height detection(Y level) and detecting if there are blocks above the player to detect if they are outside.

❤️️ I Love it... Works Perfectly!!! ❤️️ Can you add more sounds like... for Example:

1. Waterfall Sound (it gets louder as you get closer).
2. Occasionally a Water Drop Sound on the Cave with Echo.
3. Occasionally a Sound of Landslide on the Cave with Echo.
4. Occasionally a Explosion Sound on the Cave in a far distance with Echo
(As if a Creeper had exploded for some reason).
5. I Love the Breeze Sound... Can you add that sound but... making the sound of the
breeze louder as you reach higher ground? Especially when you're Flying or Running!
6. Breeze Sound but on a cave (But not loud) something smooth... especially
when your getting close to the cave exit.

I know maybe I demand too much but... You're the Man!!! Thanks!!!

Wow! This reminds me of the ambient sounds mod, which I always wanted in vanilla minecraft. In the Nether Update, Mojang added immersive biome specific sounds but only in the nether. I am really glad someone added it for the overworld and caves as well. Really amazing and immersive and I hope Mojang will update in the overworld like that too. One thing I would recommend is have more subtle and way longer gradual transitions from one sound to the next, such as going from the surface to underground it fades out too quickly. Also, I noticed while in the ocean biomes I still hear the sounds of being on a surface such as birds chirping, I think it would be more soothing to hear waves crashing and maybe a few seagulls. Other than that, brilliant what you have done so far :)

Noice! One suggestion- maybe add hostile mob sounds during the night, getting louder over time, so the player can't tell where the mobs really are (inspiration from the Rebirth of the Night modpack help i can't get the link to stop

Hey, man, I've run into a weird quirk with the pack and I'm not sure how fixable it really is. When it rains, the rain seems to come from very noticeably singular directions. It switches every few seconds, but I can very clearly hear rain coming from directly left or directly right as I move through the rain.

Yeah, minecraft generates the rain sound like this, it plays various times around the player. I need to tweak my rain sound to be more discrete actually.

I think its probably because he is executing off an entity to play the sounds? Maybe he could have the entity follow the player directly above them using a syncing mechanic.

I've been testing out this data pack on a server and so far it's very impressive! With that said, I do have some technical questions about it.

As DanMizu said similarly below, I'm not really sure how this works from a technical perspective but from what I can tell from testing, is it based on what block is above your head? Or is it something more complicated?

Whatever it may be, this makes me wonder - is it possible to configure this data pack so the day/night ambiance sounds play in more situations? I was testing it out in a dense city build and sometimes I found it jarring that the ambiance would suddenly stop standing under a 1-block wide awning and I'd like if it kept playing most of the time.

Very cool data pack either way, 10/10!

Thanks! I really want a balance between functionality and performance. Player are considered outside when the first 16 blocks above their head are either air or non-solid blocks(vines, torches...). It would be more accurate to check the surrounding of the player? Yes, it would be, but then it would cost a lot more in terms of performance. In the future I could add an option to choose between a performance friendly check or a more accurate one.
