What is Paint's GUI Peeper?
When you place a furnace, smoker, blast furnace, brewing stand, jukebox, or beehive, then item display entities will appear showing you what is inside those blocks. If you set down a campfire, then you can see how long until your food is cooked with the help of a text display entity. The block needs to be placed by a player.
The block immediately above the peepable block needs to be "free space". Without "free space", your display entities will disappear and you'll have to re-place the block to get them back.
The display entities will also disappear within 1 second of their peepable block being mined or destroyed.
How can I tell which potions are in my brewing stands?
Since potions don't change their appearance when upgraded, I made them display particles to distinguish them:
* All potions produce the effect particles of their own color.
* Extended potions produce redstone dust particles.
* Potions strengthened with glowstone dust produce yellow dust particles.
* Awkward potions produce nether wart block particles.
* Thick potions produce glowstone block particles.
* Mundane potions produce cyan terracotta particles.
Won't this cause lag?
It could. I only play singleplayer and I don't notice anything, and I use this feature a lot. But if you have too many peepable blocks in your simulated chunks, you will get a graph like this when you press F3 and Alt:
This is because all display entities update once per second, so there's a blip once per second. Place non-free space blocks over them to make the display entities vanish, like torches.
There is no need to unzip the downloaded file. It works as-is.
Happy peeping!
