Check Out My In-Dev Project: MCIsland Virtual World Minecraft Server
This pack adds Plushes that can be found as loot in chests. They can be placed and picked up like Player Heads. You can "animate" them and turn them into your pet. As a pet, you can make them sit or follow, as well as breed them. There are around 40 plushes in the pack currently!

Finding Plushes
findplush.gif
Plushes show up in all kinds of loot chests. You can find different plushes in different types of chests depending on the structure, the biome, etc.

Animating Plush Pets
PlushPets Minecraft Data Pack
You can "animate" a placed plush into a plush pet by applying a Weakness Potion to it, and then giving it a Glistering Melon Slice. You can make your Plush Pet sit or follow you by right-clicking it. It is technically possible to animate any type of player head, and not just the Plushes included in the pack!

Breeding Plush Pets
PlushPets Minecraft Data Pack
Plush Pets love Feathers. They will follow you closely when you hold them. Use it to breed two Plush Pets together.

Plush Eggs hatch within 10 minutes. The Plush that emerges will be one of the two parents.

Very rarely, Plush Pets will lay a Golden Plush Egg, which will hatch into a special Golden Plush.

Naming Plush Pets
(1.16.2 Only)

Right-click a Plush Pet with a renamed Name Tag to name it. (This only works in 1.16.2 due to bugs with versions prior)

                Installation

- Download the Datapack .zip file from this page.- Drop the Datapack .zip file directly in your world's "datapack" folder (In 1.16+, you can access this with the Datapack button in the world's settings).

- Type "/reload" in-game. If you're unable to use /reload, press the Open to LAN button in the Menu screen and turn on Cheats. (Or, you can leave and then re-join the world.)

- To ensure that it was installed correctly, check your advancements under the "Installed Datapacks" tab. (Default button is "L", or you can press the button in the menu)

(This Datapack plays really well with other packs that edit vanilla loot tables. It does not edit any loot table directly. It inserts the plushes into the chests when players open it. This means that plushes can show up in chests with loot added from other packs!)

Hey, really cute datapack! I think I discovered a bug (was only temporary, still wanted to ask). I threw a weakness potion onto a plush and gave it a glistering melon to animate it, then I used "/effect clear @e" to remove the particles and the plush had a villager in it for a sec? Just wanted to ask if that's normal haha. The particles didn't go away, but it's not a huge problem. The egg is completely black in my world, I'm using Optifine, when I hold a torch the dynamic light shows it's actual color, but I guess that's a shader problem. (Using BSL v.7.1.03.2 currently) Also, another thing I noticed: I created a new world, used the datapacks button, set the .zip file into the folder and activated it and Minecraft said that it was made for an older version of the game. Still worked though, just wanted to note. I'm using 1.16.5 right now.

Thanks!

Yep, Villagers are used for right-click detection and have the invisibility effect. You removed that when you used the command, however when you look away from the Plush it despawns the villager and respawns it again when you look back at it which gives it invisibility again.

The particles are generated by a command, not a potion effect on the entity so doing /effect clear wouldn't do anything.

Also yes, I didn't update the pack number at the time of release so it says it's for an older version of Minecraft however it has nothing to do with the pack actually working or not. If I ever update the pack I will make sure to fix that.

On another comment, the creator replied on how to obtain it, it can be obtained with:

/loot give @s loot plushpets:plush/[plush_name]

For example:

/loot give @s loot plushpets:plush/creeper

would give you the creeper plush.

I have used it in my world and it worked.

Really neat idea! I love it. Daimond for you
Are you open to including a lite version that just acts on the player heads and does not include loot tables to get them ? I would love to have them in shops or players to pick from various head pets.
