Wondering what the Hero of the Village effect datapack is for? Be honest with yourself: how many times did you summon a raid just to get this effect? For what? For those small and short-lived trade discounts with villagers? Or for gifts from the villagers you saved?
Wait... GIFTS??? Oh really? Imagine: you just killed the last Illager of 8th wave. You stand ankle-deep in blood like Achilles at Troy. Dead bodies of the invaders lie around. Your arms are so stretched from a day of sword and axe swinging that you can scratch your heels standing up. And here comes a villager and gives you... paper. Or a fish. Raw one! It's more like disposing of garbage at a garage sale than showing gratitude.
But that's over. Let being a Hero of the Village finally pay off. With this datapack you will be well rewarded for your bravery and prowess in battle.
I won't list all the gifts you'll get from the villagers, check it out for yourself, you won't regret it. All I will say is that you might be surprised by randomly enchanted diamond tools, armor and weapons. Cleric will also share a randomly enchanted book with you. There is also a small chance of elytra and a totem of undying. And a whole lot of useful stuff.
