A few of the most common requests for beacons have been added, to update and power them up in a balanced and vanilla way.
This pack is compatible with versions 1.21 and up, so works with most modern mods (many of which are stuck at 1.21.1).
    • Copper Ingots can be used as beacon payment items. Why were these left out?
    • Copper Blocks can be used for beacon base blocks. To balance for Copper's abundance, this only includes the regular Copper Block and it's waxed form, and with no oxidation. You'll have to maintain your Copper to use it!
    • Larger Range! Beacon range has always been too small, so now it can be increased! Scaling factor default is 16 (Normally 10 in vanilla), but can configured to up to 20!. This range is also a circular radius, instead of cuboid.
    • Block Material Scaling has been added, giving you a reason to use higher tier materials for your beacon pyramid:
    •   Iron, Gold, Copper: Grant level 1 effects.
    •   Diamond, Emerald, Netherite: Grant level 2 effects.
    •   Tier 2 blocks are in a block tag, so you can add or remove blocks to your liking, even including Modded blocks.
    •   Note: The level 4 pyramid buff of granting level 2 effects does not stack with material scaling.
    • Player pets and mobs that players are riding can receive beacon effects as well, both separately toggleable and enabled by default.
Settings in Minecraft versions before Dialog menus existed can be configured by running the beacon_rework:settings function.

    1 Update Logs

    v1.1 : by AuraAcorn 08/29/2026 6:09:59 pmAugust 29 @ 10:09 pm UTC

    • Now built for wide version range compatibility. Supports versions 1.21-26.3 snapshots
    • Effect level 3 is no longer obtainable, and Deepslate can no longer be instantly mined. The grinding required for it is far beyond what it
is worth, and players shouldn't be incentivized to do that for the "best" possible beacon.
    • Blocks used for level 2 effects are now in a block tag, so you can set it to be any blocks you want (including modded blocks)
    • Added a new option for toggling if beacon effects work on pets of players. Defaults to true
    • Added a new option for toggling if beacon effects work on mobs that players are riding. Defaults to true
