Extend the range of a beacon's effects by adding more layers to the base pyramid, up to 8 layers. Each layer adds 10 blocks of range and 2 additional seconds to the effect up to 180 blocks from the beacon and 24 seconds of effect time on a max level 8 beacon.

Have something to say?
Normal vanilla beacons have a square effect, effect emanating from the beam, regardless of Y-Level and 50 down from the beam, so in effect it's a rectangular area of affect rather than a sphere.
However when I a build a maxed beacon as per this datapack starting a Y=0 (beacon in the end), then go up really high in an area where I have beacon effects at ground level, I lose the beacon effects even though I'm still at the same X,Z coordinates and as per vanilla behavior Y-Level should not matter.
So I did some testing flying around in creative mode, and as far as I can tell it appears the area of effect is a sphere, which means if you build a beacon very low and go high up, this datapack may actually gives less range then a default beacon as it does not use the beam as the center of the area of affect, but I suspect rather the beacon itself or perhaps the base of the beacon.
Some old but still quite good info on how beacons work: Beacon Mythbusting by Xisumavoid
Additionally, when I skim the edges, instead of the full time effect it seems to refresh with a few seconds fewer.
Example, 8 level beacon at ({beacon blocks themselves all 6 effects} 1,8,1 / 2,8,1 / 1,8,0 / 2,8,0 / 1,8,-1 / 2,8,-1)
130, 177, -82 Full effects with 23 seconds.
130, 178, -82 No effects at all
Lost all effects at at 130, 178, -82, fly closer to beacon:
74, 178, -46 21 seconds effects regained
74, 152, -46 23 seconds effects
Close to beacon beam:
5, 306, -3 Above build height, no beam no effects
5, 300, -3 Above build height, no beam, 16 seconds effects
5, 251 -3 16 seconds effects
5, 177, -3 21 seconds effects
5, 174, -3 23 seconds effects

Would be much appreciated if you can help fix this. Your beacon datapack has been the best way to extend the beacon range in the most vanilla feeling way.
