The sky ships are naturally spawning and have loot. Once you name the ship you can buy tickets to it from any other sky ship. Any leashed animals are teleported with you. There is also loot inside of the ships to be found. If you want me to make any modifications to the pricing or anything else I would be happy to help.
When the book in the ship's lectern is signed, the ship uses the book's name for the ship's name. Otherwise it uses the text on the first page of the book as the ship's name.

It may be because the markers that store the teleport trades are not being loaded, check and see if the [0,0] chunk is force loaded.
(also did you have any issues with the advancements? when i tested it, i constantly got the found a ship advancement)
Edit: the only issue after testing that I have found is that when you take a book off the lectern and place it back, it makes a new ticket for that area. I am unsure how to remove tickets from the menu.
