What Book is This?

a Minecraft Datapack for versions 22w46a and higher

Description:

Relevant information about a book will be displayed to players when hovered over in a chiseled bookshelf. This alleviates the need to take a book out of a bookshelf to identify what it is, and attempts to make chiseled bookshelves a more viable and convenient option for storing books.

Usage:

What Book is This? [22w46a+] Minecraft Data Pack

Hovering your cursor over a book placed in a bookshelf will display identifying information about the book to the player's actionbar. The information displayed depends on the type of book in the slot. Enchanted books display each enchantment held in the book. Written books display the title and author of the book. These book types (as well as Writable books and Books) will display their custom names if present.

Displays can be toggled by each player individually using either of the commands
/trigger whatbookisthis
/trigger wbit
The datapack can be fully disabled by using the command /function wbit:uninstall

You should change the .zip file's name so that people know to unzip the datapack or just unzip it yourself

Really like this, but I have to reload the datapack each time I start playing. It does show as enabled when listed, but it doesn't work until I do a reload.

My guess is a ray cast that figures out what part of the block he's looking at and then references it back to the slot in the NBT data. Great idea!
