How to install Minecraft Data Packs

This Data Pack adds a new mob called Wither Soldier to the game. It spawns very rarely in the Soul Sand Valley or for 1.15 everywhere in the nehter.
The Wither Soldier holds a Netherite Sword and rides a Wither Skeleton Horse.

If you kill one of them you get Wither Bones and with a small chance a Wither Soldier Skull or a Netherite Sword.


Drops
Wither Bones

These can be crafted into Wither Bone Meal. If this is used on grass, saplings or flowers, the plants around it will die. In the case of flowers, there is a chance that they will turn into Wither Roses.

Wither Soldier Minecraft Data Pack

The Crafting Table will show normal Bone Meal as the result. This will be replaced by the Wither Bone Meal after crafting.

This recipe won't work in the Crafter.

[​1.15 - 1.19.4] The Crafting needs to be done by dropping a Wither Bone on top of a Crafting Table.


Wither Soldier Skull

Put it on your head and you will be able to see all Ancient Debris in a radius of 5 blocks.
But be aware that you will get the Wither Effect as long as you have it on.

25 Hearts (50 Health Points)
Attack Damage
Easy: 5 Hearts Damage (10 Health Points)
Normal: 7 Hearts Damage (14 Health Points)
Hard: 8 Hearts Damage (16 Health Points)
Attack Knockback
3 (Normal Value: 1.5)
Follow Range
30 Blocks (Value Zombie: 35)

Wither Skeleton Horse (Changes from normal Horse)
Health
10 Hearts (20 Health Points)
Movement Speed
0.3 (Value Player: 0.1)

Commands
Summon the Wither Soldier manually:
/function wither_soldier:spawn
Give Wither Soldier Skull:
/function wither_soldier:wither_soldier_skull/give

Hi, I have a moded server on 1.21.1 Neoforge, and in this server we have this datapack, I just check out the datapack version, this is because when we craft minecraft:bone_meal with a minecraft:bone instead of a Wither Bone, we still get the Wither Bone Meal, we tried this in any crafting table we have in the modpack, even the vanilla one, all bones give us Wither Bone Meal





Here is a video, only the crafter give us minecraft:bone_meal

I get it, I now understand that block's functionality, as the crafter, this give us minecraft:bone_meal too

Thank for reaching out to me.
I actually forgot to update some code for the newer versions of minecraft so this is why it happend.
The crafting of normal bone meal should now work again with v3.1.

I also discovered that my method for the crafting wont work in the crafter and most likely also not in any other auto crafter of mods. I wont fix this since it would require a lot of additional code and there for would need more resources. If it is even possible only with data packs.

Hiiii, im making a minecraft server and im planning to add this datapack. Do my friends also need to install the resource pack?

Yes, to see the Texture of they need the Resource Pack. You can also change your server.properties like shown underneath to automatically load the resource pack when someone joins the server. The only disadvantage of this method is that you always have to wait for the resources to reload when you join or leave the server. And you need to upload the resource pack to google drive or similar to link it.

hello, whenever I turn bones into bonemeal there would be a chance it turns into Wither Bone Meal and it's starting to get really annoying. How do I fix this?

It could be that this causes some problems with the crafting recipe

Is the data pack correctly installed? The downloaded zip file needs to be in the datapacks folder in your world. The zip file must not be unzipped.
