So, i have a friend here, what are really newby to minecraft commands globally. Is there a really good, and preferably shorter video tutorial about datapack themes, like some themes what i want to touch: Basics, all commands, helpful sites (mcstacker, misode), scoreboards, scoreboard types(deaths, used) , datapack basics, datapack function, advancements... and progressive to worldgen.
I know you might show me Cloud Wolf, WASD Build Team, etc. they show really powerfull things, but, knowing my friend, convience him to watch entire catalogue of videos (what, basically 16 minutes +) is hard. What is really by question, is he going to touch himself something...
I just want to know, is there some short versions of this, or i must do it myself, (awcourse taking credits).
If there are someone who too really want to learn about datapacks, i think i can spend some time with you.
I dont think i like, good at datapacks (worldgen, is still problem to me)
But i learn some optimisation tricks, and now my datapacks work even on my shitty pc :)
I have an idea, to create an adventure map, what made people to learn datapack features to progress in map
So, is there someone who want to learn something new from datapacks? If there is, go check my discord, or dm me, and we can talk then :)
Have a good time)

It's dated as heck, I am probably.. "maybe" willing to update but for now.. maybe this can help?

Tab-spam all commands and see what they do.
You'll fail alot, but that's how you learn. You don't get much from success.
It takes years to be good, and even more to be truly well-known.

Yeah, i know commands... My friend dont know, i just not so good at teaching someone 😅

Try this excellent tutorial by Silabear : www.planetminecraft.com/blog/how-to-create-a-minecraft-data-pack/ It's not a video but it is very well illustrated & presented.
I'm still learning a little bit of how they work myself, but as someone else already said, knowing at least some of the commands for MC is part of it.
As for tutorials, I don't think he is active (no new videos as of about two years), but I learned most of what I know in datapacks from BronGhast014 (linked name to his channel-also, I think he may have a PMC account, but can't remember). I have watched some tutorials from Cloud Wolf and Timber Forge as well, but most of what I have been able to really learn has been from him.
Note that he doesn't actually speak, but utilizes text at the bottom to communicate, which might be why it has been easier for me to learn from him. I'd recommend starting from the beginning, as he goes through and builds upon a previous videos knowledge, and he said this himself.
Hope this helps!

If you learn how advancements, predicates, and some other essential commands such as /execute ...etc and some basic scoreboard knowledge you've learnt like 40-50% of making datapacks. There is not really one channel to give you everything. You just gotta read and search and you will eventually learn
progressive to worldgen -> Wafflesarebetter
but like basics in commands is rly hard, since they are in the game for a long time.
If your friend has any programming experience (even just in theory) id suggest you give them some small task you can do with commands (and maybe in a datapack) and have them work with the sites you mentioned (misode, mcstacker, ...) or google for how to do it to complete the task.
The google searches will hopefully help your friend understand what different commands do and how to use them.
Also reading the documentation (altho sometimes shit) of commands is quite helpful imo.

Only things that my friend know, is basic commands, like kill gamemode and i teach him trigger command. So basically, he is a full noob 😅
