elfie_ • 2024-07-12 22:41:30

there's a slim chance... I have a half-finished tutorial from 2021 on the very basics of shading that I might get around to finishing up. we'll see :)

i say the phrase "I wanna play hytale" out loud to my friends at least once a day. if it finally comes out while i'm still in college i think ima have to drop out.

anyone else still waiting hytale? i feel like im the only person who still remembers it T^T

now i wanna make a Kweebec skin

Karaoke • 2024-07-11 16:17:33

I'd say there's still a 2-4 year development time, would be majorly surprised if it comes out quicker than that (if at all at this point)

cloudkitty • 2024-07-11 12:41:05

I think the only reason I remembered it was because it was mentioned on a podcast- I would love to play it if it finally comes out

Yuffies • 2024-07-11 11:56:29

oh I had no idea Riot bought them whattt??? That's defo a pretty good sign (I'm assuming we're talking about Riot Games, I've never heard of any other game studio with Riot in the name :') ). I forget it exists sometimes but I'm still excited to play it when it finally comes out

Fawne • 2024-07-11 11:32:51

they post on their blog like twice a year & from the sound of the most recent one..they might get to playtesting this year but they're still a wayyyssss away from release. hoping the game will be v polished when it comes out 🤞

Hansby • 2024-07-11 08:26:08

I am also aware of its existence, but I'd rather keep my expectations at bay. I'm not sure how much will it take for the devs to complete the game, but given the effort they're putting into it, it's only a matter of time (and who knows how much) before they release it someday.

ok guys ive been on hiatus for awhile and there's a lotta new stuff...

1) what's the deal with jams?
2) what are CFTs / does the community actually care about them
3) not a PMC thing but does anyone know what the Skindex's policy on commissions are? like are you allowed to link your comms in your bio or in a comment, or will that get you banned (a few years ago I got temp-banned for this, but maybe thats changed)

thx for the info!

Fawne • 2024-07-09 17:27:47

it's worth noting that jams don't cover all contest/event types as there's a 5-entry-per-person limit
so if you're doing a long-form event/contest that requires multiple entries from contestants, forums are still probably the better option

jellyfishh • 2024-07-09 16:37:32

jams are just contests so now you dont have to use forums.
CFTs were added in April Fools as fake NFTs. i dont know who cares but i just get the daily pack just because

inzanely • 2024-07-09 16:22:06

i scanned over skindex's terms and conditions and they did mention this:

"Your use of the Site is subject to all applicable local, state, and national laws and regulations and, in some cases, international treaties. You are solely responsible for all activities, acts, and omissions that occur in, from, through or under your username or password. You shall not use, allow, or enable others to use the Site, or knowingly condone the use of this Site by others, in any manner that is, attempts to, or is likely to:
* be used for commercial or business purposes, including, without limitation, advertising, marketing or offering goods or services, whether or not for financial or any other form of compensation or through linking with any other website or web pages;"

also saw this in the ownership of intellectual properties section:

"The Site is to be used solely for your non-commercial, non-exclusive, non-assignable, non-transferable and limited personal use and for no other purposes."

edit: these two pages should answer your other two questions

[ jams group ]
[ cft announcement ]

cloudkitty • 2024-07-09 15:51:43

i don't think they'll ban you, but just in case I know some people like to create carrds so they can link the comm page from there

Papa Enny • 2024-07-09 15:38:02

jams are contests/events, ranked/finalists are contests, unranked are events
CTF are joke trading cards, you "buy" them from your level money
I am not a skindexer

Amazing work with the HD version! HD is still very daunting for me, like I feel like if I did make a HD skin, it wouldn't look HD.

Try a cartoon styled HD skin. They turn out pretty good a lot of times.
