    happy disability pride month!!! 💖
    as someone who has been diagnosed with and dealt with many chronic illnesses over this last year especially but also the entirety of my life, there is hope for change always. being disabled is the one marginalized group that any person at any age can join, whether the disability is visible or invisible. please advocate for more accessibility, raise awareness, and show support for us this month!

    had planned to post more skinfight skins than i have </3 unfortunately i have gotten sick from going to a Hozier concert in Columbus. it thunder stormed for three hours and then he proceeded to continue to have the concert after it had been delayed, *still in the rain*. had an awesome time and honestly the rain made it SO much more peak but i am so sick now. apologies for the lack of content 😭

    filling out the med school applications is the most stressful thing I've ever done 😭 if I don't get invited for an interview I might actually lose it because I know I've put a solid 24 hours into these applications AT LEAST

    little update since I've been inactive for a bit!

    from august to december I was busy with literally just passing my classes. for some reason, my faculty advisor told I could handle the workload of three major courses, all of which I've been informed now that are the hardest classes at my university due to the professors that teach them (biochemistry, physics I, and general physiology). I don't mean to be rude, but these professors made what could be simple painstakingly hard, now that ii'm revising each of these subjects to prepare for the MCAT in June. somehow I managed to pass all my classes, but my health took a big blow.

    for a bit, I've thought I had narcolepsy, which causes a person to fall asleep spontaneously, but my doctor refused to have me tested for it despite my complaints. I didn't think my tiredness was anything more than my usual fatigue, until I fell asleep during a physics exam AND a biochemistry exam. fortunately, I switched doctors, and now she's having me do a sleep study, have some blood tests done, referred me to a new genetic specialist since my last one retired, and prescribed me some medication to help with my depression, so we can hopefully figure out the root of the problem.

    last week was my first week back of the semester. I've got a much easier course load this semester, rejoined the choir ensemble on campus, and signed up for a study abroad class to Greece to study Apostle Paul. I'm also working out every day in preparation for this trip since it requires a lot of walking, but also it helps with my overall pain management. And, along with all this, I'm studying for my MCAT every day. Surprisingly, I find most of it interesting (physics is the bane of my existence). but it's really just hit me that this is the year I apply to medical school. this is the year that I find out if I get in to my dream medical school. and that's crazy to me. I can't seem to figure out where my youth is gone, and yet, I'm so unbelievably excited for what's to come.

    so for now, I'm gonna step back a bit from PMC. I'm not leaving; I'll just pop in from time to time to see what I'm missing. to give updates on my health, as well as on my journey to becoming a doctor. maybe upload a skin or two.
