I've never specifically played on mobile, but I do mainly play bedrock on PC.
The overall performance of Bedrock is significantly better than java, but it does lack a large modding community, which can sometimes make it harder to build on (Meaning not having mods like World Edit, which is pretty much a standard now for building) but there are marketplace "Mods" if on BR you don't mind spending a few dollars. Bedrock does have some great official featured servers with minigames, such as Galaxite and Hive, and of course the crossplay is much better for playing with friends that aren't exclusively on PC. Commands are slightly easier, but Redstone is built differently, so you have to make sure to use specific Bedrock Edition tutorials for anything Redstone related.
But overall, besides community aspects such as mods, Mojang's been doing a great job of making the two versions as close as possible, so nowadays there isn't too much of a difference. I prefer bedrock for the performance, but I do still play Java frequently.
Sorry for the giant wall of text XD
