This mod adds many new mobs to specific biomes, dimensions and other environments such as lava! These new mobs are mostly hostile but there are some passive ones too that can be bred for special food. Many mobs can be tamed, used as mounts and even summoned as temporary minion hordes!
This mod also adds deadly world events that start randomly every hour or so (highly configurable), these events spawn swarms of deadly mobs as well as other hazards!
This mod takes inspiration from other games and mythologies and is well known for it's Doom (by ID Software) inspired Demon Mobs for the Nether, but has much more than just that!
This mod uses the latest Forge, so just install forge and pop this mod in the mods folder.
Can I add this to my public modpack?
Yes you can! If you want to share this mod in your private/public mod pack, go ahead, just be sure to credit me (Lycanite) and leave a link to the mod website (big link below)!
Also be sure to let me know if this mod and other mods don't play nice.
I don't know if this has been discussed before, but it seems that pretty much every hostile mob gives me immediate blindness when I look at them... Was this intended? Is there a missing overlay texture or am I missing something to equip?
I don't know if you've intended it to be so, but it seems that Lycanite's Mobs is NOT honoring Dr. Zhark's Custom Mob Spawner configuration as the CMS configuration is set to false for epions, afrits, and some other mobs in the overworld, but they are still spawning.
Lycanites Mobs uses several custom spawners which wont be affected by other mods but are highly configurable. Custom Mob Spawner is know to breaking the spawning of other mods so you might have problems with mobs that use the vanilla spawner.
Hi, hello. I saw this mod at MCBBS forum in China. I like this mod very much, but MCBBS hasn't been updated for a long time. Can I reprint this mod to MCBBS?
We have been playing with this mod for a few weeks now and suddenly our lycanite mounts lost their "Soanso's Shade" text and became just "Shade" and we also lost the ability to move while riding them. This change happened suddenly after a normal server restart and I can't figure out how to fix it. We tried releasing and re-summoning new mounts and it remains 'Shade' and we are unable to move while on it despite having a saddle. Any ideas on how we can fix it?
I love the monsters (especially the doom ones!) but wow is this mod an fps slayer. Without Lycanites I get 35-55 fps on my modded 1.7.10 world depending on biome, with it I get 20 max and sometimes as low as 5. Had to uninstall it :( But I did already have like 90 mods plus shaders/texture packs so maybe it's not this bad otherwise.
I feel like the meshes are bit too... smooth? I do like them, though I prefer a much blockier feel to mix in the Minecrafts style. Like, Mo'Creatures animal meshes are blocky, all of them and it fits in perfectly with minecrafts style.
Yeah I decided to go against the grain with the meshes rather than staying with blocks, I can see how it isn't for a lot of people. My mod does support resource pack models I believe so in the future I might look at adding blockier alternatives.
I though it would be interesting if made by you guys!

sounds cool, dont it? well its gonna be harder cuz you need certain things to make crystals that implement the alien into the watch
how that works make a crystal, right clock with watch in hand, you will still have acess to your hotkey inventory, take a crystal out of that and put it in slot to left of alien selection GUI
The mod is not smooth with forge. For example my forge normally runs on 40 fps no mods (also with the 30+ mods I use too) and and 0-3 fps with it installed.
This is an awesome mod.I've wanted a more challenging minecraft experience for awhile now so this is 100% satisfying.If you need any help improving it,or some ideas let me know.

Fantastic Mod! Been using it a while now, but I haven't figured out what the 'Lunar Grue' is. I assume it's a boss like creature as it darkens the enviroment and a purple [I assume] health bar appears at the top of the screen. But I can't find the creature, and when I walk away from the area it does not disappear. It was fun hunting it at first, but now it's just annoying. Can anyone explain to me what this thing is and how to dispatch of it?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found the bugger. Took him down with my Venom Axeblade! Fun!!
Awesomes, they can be tricky to beat! You can turn off the boss bars for rare mobs via the lycanitesmobs-general.cfg config file or by deleting all your Lycanites Mobs config files for fresh ones with the new default settings to generate.
Also, Lycanite, if you have a minion out with items inside, and you die, it causes a duplication glitch where your minion spawns beside you, but your previous one doesn't despawn.
Rahovart is the greatest thing i have EVER seen in minecraft mod history.It's Chananging, fun and just full out a way to focus on dodging attacks. So i say to you Lycanite GG, GG indeed.
Awesome mod!! I used the soulstone on my pets... but.... I can't get to the pet menu so I can't get them. How do i get to the management menu gui? I did it once, but that was with the summoning staff, I can't figure it out again.
Sorry for the realllly late responce! You can get to it by clicking on the Lycanites Mobs tab in the inventory or you can set a keybind for it via the controls menu.
Been searching for various info but so far getting very few hits that aren't a year old. But as far as issues with buckets of pure lava being put into various tanks (mariculture tanks for example), will there be fixes for this? As of now it crashes the chunk, requiring world edit or the like to replace the tank item.
Hey, I've got two questions. I'm using this in a hardmode server-based modpack, but we've run into a couple of issues.
Firstly; is there any way to prevent mobs spawning in certain areas? Everything is fine most of the time, but during mob events we're getting mobs spawn in the newbie tutorial area. The newbies are invincible, but we've got a few NPCs in there that the mobs are targetting - plus it's not really very good having big mobs wandering around trying to kill you even if they can't.
Second; Spriggans. Do you have any recommendation on how someone without projectiles can kill them? Again with the newbies, they start breaking grass to get seeds for their first food, a Spriggan jumps out and every time they damage it, it just flies out of range and steals their health, making them effectively impossible to kill. Any tactics they can use to get them? (Bear in mind it's hard mode, and they may well not have resources for a bow or fishing rod). Failing that, is it possible to stop them spawning out of broken grass?
Hey, sorry for the late reply, I don;t chcek these comments too often! You can stop mobs from spawning in certain biomes but you may need another mod in order to create no-mob zones. There are many config options that you can change including an option in lycanitesmobs-general.cfg to stop mobs from targetting villagers. Spriggans may seem tough but they are incredibly vulnerable to axes, even a wooden axe can take them down very quickly, though you may need to take cover to lure them down if they're too high up. You can also stop Spriggans from spawning out of crops by changing their spawn type from CROP to MONSTER in forestmobs-spawning.cfg if needed though.
Lol yup! Jousts are pretty much Scrabs and Lurkers are pretty much Paramites but they're not 100% the same. Joust farming can be a lot of fun but look out for the alphas!

Questions: 1) may I use these mobs in an adventure map if I credit you? 2) most importantly, is it possible to use command blocks to create spawners for your mobs? I tried using /setblock ~ ~1 ~ minecraft:mob_spawner 0 replace {EntityId:Beholder} but it just creates a flaming spawner with no mobs.
Feel free to use this mod in your map! You can indeed use these mobs via commands, though the entity IDs start with the submod, for example mountainsmobs.beholder or swampmobs.lurker.
