I'm excited to present a new mod focused on mobs-specifically, cute little pets!Whimsical Companions adds various mobs for you to collect and take with you on your Minecraft journey, or simply to keep at your base to liven it up! Either way I hope you'll enjoy their company! Currently this mod adds five different species that can be found across variousu biomes in the world!
The current species and their locations are:
- Oozers, found in swamps and near rivers. Impervious to poison and drowning.
- Draklers, found in savanahs and badlands. Fireproof, rideable and they shoot fireballs!
- Whisptails, found in Spruce and Dark Forests. Swift and strong!
-North Wind Dragon, found in various mountain biomes. Rideable with feather falling and impervious to fall damage!
-Eshteru, found in jungles, ice spikes and flower forests. They're charming and angelic creatures!
The primary focus of this mod is simply adding cute pets, any utility or 'usefulness' is secondary; Because of this idea, these mobs don't have ANY drops whatsoever, and shouldn't drop Experience either. So with that in mind, what CAN you do with your Whimsical Companion? Well that should be explained in FEATURES!
Features:
- A Shiny Golden Bell that has various effects, and to charm pets to follow you! Depending on the pet you rightclick the bell on, they will do the following:
*North Wind Dragons will fly a short distance with you riding along!
*Whisptails, Oozers and Draklers will Attack Mobs that you attack or that try to attack you!
*Eshteru will Sit in Place!
- Eggs and BABY pets! Use the Love Berry from the Loveberry Bush(found in Flower Forests and Birch Forests) on your pet, and it should lay an egg! Rightclick the egg with Blaze Powder in order to start the hatching process!
- Pet Growth! When Pets Hatch, they hatch as a little baby version of their species, and will NOT age-up on their own! Give them special Growth Treats to have them grow instantly!
- Special Variations! If you give your Pet a specific item while it's still a Baby, it will turn into a special variation! There's only one variation Per Species currently, but there will be more with future updates!

*Draklers turn into Prismarine Draklers when given a Prismarine Shard
*Whisptails turn into Ghastly Whisptails when given a Ghst Tear
*Oozers turn into Star-born Oozers when given a Nether Star
*North Wind Dragons turn into Inferno North Wind Dragons when given Blaze Powder
*Eshterus turn into Ender Eshterus when given an Ender Pearl

- Even when 'Tamed', Pets will not Follow you unless you use the Bell, Treats, or a Lead. It is recommended you Also use some kind of Capture Pod/Lasso Mod to relocate them more easily.
- Nametagged Eshteru may lose their Names when set to Sit mode.
- Although Draklers are rideable right away, the Bell will set them to be able to attack for you.
