So... It appears some indonesian guy has reposted my backrooms map onto another website without my consent or any credit, which is definitely not a good thing for me. Credit to Kachow95958015 for discovering this travesty. The following footage of this was taken by Kachow95958015, where he then shared this with me for my information.

My map was reposted on the app 'Addons for Minecraft, by Kayen Works'. Their email is addons@kayenworks.com. I don't wanna email them since my email has my irl name and i don't wanna risk getting doxxed or anything. Please spread awareness of this. I can't let this slide.

It appears my map was reposted by an individual who goes by "BintzGE", of some alleged "GlowTeam", and i presume they are indonesian since there is a translation of their description that replaced my description below the english one. While my planetmc username appears next to the amount of downloads, the description says that this map (which they call a "city themed" map, btw) was made by this supposed "GlowTeam"

the same happened to me on a russian site that i won't link for obvious reasons
recently did a bit of research on it and it seems the person reuploading it was using an automated web crawler system to steal the most popular maps and gain popularity and money for the individual and the site.
that particular account on the site had over 65,000 content submissions, most of it probably automated. after translating it did say that my particular map had zero external downloads, which is good as it likely steals data and/or transmits malware.
on that topic i could see that the site was constantly trying to redirect me to known infostealer sites and load... hm... bad things. i will say that on that site i did have an adblocker and a vpn (not saying i recommend it in any other situation) to avoid those popups but it certainly is not safe. worse than fandom, perhaps.
i did run the download on a vm out of curiosity and it did have a trojan in the zip file, but other than that it was literally just an old version of my map without the actual embedded credits. it did, funnily enough, contain a poorly translated credits text saying it was not made by me. very funny.
moral of the story: don't go on sketchy sites without scanning it with virustotal :D -
