Auschwitz I Stammlager

This is the Auschwitz I Stammlager, it was a part of the Auschwitz complex excluding Auschwitz II Birkenau(Vernichtungslager) and Monowitz-Auschwitz III(Arbeitslager). The concentration camp opened in 1941 and operated until 1945 when the Soviet Army liberated it in January of that year. Unlike Birkenau, the Stammlager was mean't as a headquarters for the Auschwitz staff and the concentration camp itself for forced labor which were 12 hour work days. Inmates were made as punishment to be put in standing cells for 19 hours and also hanged behind the arms. This is also where Maxmillian Kolbe sacrificed himself for a Jewish man to be among his family. Inmates were mostly told that Crematorium I was a "shower" and to do it weekly on Sundays. Inmates were also injected with phenol and were subjected to medical experiments including women in Block 10. This project also includes a replica of the Block 11 basement from observing it. It also includes Rudolf Hoss's house. Unfortunately, some of the buildings do not have interiors as I could not find any blueprints and also because the museum may like to keep the buildings private under protocols including the terrain. This project was never meant to glorify genocide or Nazism. The project is free to people who want to use it for educational purposes only.
