Hello all. I have finally finished my build of the Silver spade! =D
The silver spade was built by Bucyrus-Erie in the 1960's, and was dismantled in 2007. And was owned and operated by "Consolidated Coal company" out of Ohio. Its job was to remove the "overburden" in open pit mining. Which is just removing the dirt and rock to get to the ore. It produced a peak horsepower of 13,500, and ran on a 7,200 volt power cable which would be attached to the drum on back of the machine, just below the rotating body. Which I have happened to forgot lol. It could lift 105 yards of rock and dirt in a single scoop, or 80 cubic meters.
