Dauntless-Class Aircraft Carrier

Hey, hey guys.  So you know all those deadlines?  Yeah, I kinda forgot about them.  But now, over a year after her creation, I present to you: THE FINALLY FINISHED SKYSHIP DAUNTLESS!  This thing has been lurking around in various stages of creation for a long time, and has gathered me a filthy amount of views and diamonds, so thank you all very much for sticking with it!  What can you expect now that I've finally finished this?  Welp, I can now start unashamed on my Celestial Chaos Starships, which I already have, as well as finishing up (in the spirit of finishing stuff up) a transport ship I started a long time ago and only recently revisted/remembered.  However, you didn't come here to listen to me ramble, so let's get to the good stuff!

The Dauntless originated from a need in the Air Navy for a flying fighter carrier in the initial skirmishes against Iyecte, where the fast and maneuverable Skyhound fighters proved highly effective. Unfortunately, the limited-range aircraft could only travel so far from their bases, so quickly Skylord Brony began developing a solution. Part testbed for the Mk. III cold fusion reactor, part a proof-of-concept, and part over-the-top badass flying aircraft carrier, the Dauntless easily filled any role required of it. As a fighter carrier, the high aircraft capacity exceeded any contemporary vessel, and its effectiveness as a fleet command ship is still proven time and again today. While lightly armed, the ship was never designed for a direct combat role, instead built for hanging back and coordinating attacks while giving Alliance ships the fighter cover they need. The sheer size of the Dauntless aids in intimidating any enemy known, even Iyecte.

Serving as the center of a carrier task force, the Dauntless-class is the nucleus of all combat information, coordination, and communication as the fleet goes about its routes.  Lightly armed itself, the ship relies on its air wing and escort group to destroy any incoming enemies, however it is able to engage on its own in a limited capacity.   The cold fusion reactor, while powerful, is not as efficient as some of the later models, and is expected to be replaced by the Mk. VI currently in development for early starship designs.  Plans to convert one to space-capable form have been considered, but for now are essentially a background project.

The Dauntless is the symbol of Skylord air power.  Its large size, huge crew and aircraft complement, and intimidating firepower (from its forces and its escorts) are enough to send contemporary Earth nations fleeing, and to even make Minecraftian enemies like the Netherborn and Republic of the Dragon quiver a bit.  It is currently only available to the Skylord military and any civilians wealthy enough to afford one, (there have been none yet who have shown any interest) however a few airframes have been considered for export to close allies.  Currently, the large amount of resources and money required to build and maintain even one have limited their numbers in the Skylord Air Navy alone, and has turned off potential buyers.  No matter the coming events, though, the Dauntless will remain the center of Air Naval strategy, at least until the Defiant-class battleship shows up.
