The Rheinfall, later renamed Neptun, was a paddlewheel-driven smooth-deck steamboat that operated on Lake Constance and the Upper Rhine.
The ship was built by the company Escher, Wyss & Cie. and put into service in 1865 together with its sister ship Arenaberg by the Schaffhausener Dampfboot AG. It operated on the route from Schaffhausen to Constance, with Schaffhausen as its home port.
Since there are no plans or pictures of the interiors, I built it by feel. All rooms are based on contemporary interiors from other ships.
It should have a texture package in the folder (zip). For the better experience, I used the "Solid Iron trapdoor" and the "Solid Iroon door" texture packs.

On December 20, 1869, a boiler explosion occurred on the ship while sailing away from Berlingen near the dock, killing seven people and several cattle, and injuring others. The ship sank immediately. The boiler was recovered in 1995 and stands as a monument at the ship's landing stage. The accident was re-enacted as a scene in the painting "Shipwreck off Berlingen" by painter Adolf Dietrich in 1935. Today, the Rheinfalls ship's bell still hangs at the Berlingen landing stage as a reminder.

Two years later, in 1871, the sunken ship was lifted, repaired, and put back into service under the new name Neptun. In 1922, it sank a second time during repair work in the shipyard, but was lifted again and continued to operate until it was finally scrapped in 1939.
