There is some symbolism behind the build. The idea of the build is a love garden (Yes, I am straight). The island is secluded to show the privacy and secrecy from other people that a relationship involves. The wall around the garden is too keep out people that should not be involved, but the arch ways into the garden shows that there is a way for people to come in and help. The flowers inside the garden start off small and enclosed, the further into the centre you go the bigger the flowers grow and eventually blossom. The statue in the centre is fairly obvious. There is not a lot of light around the garden this is because in a relationship you are constantly in the dark, not knowing what direction you and you partner will go in next. The area is partially flat, as a relationship should be 'smooth sailing', but in the build as in a relationship there are 'bumps' (more organically made than bumps).

Backstory:
Many years ago when the new world was still being discovered and explored, there were two lovers, deeply in love, a love forbidden by society. Eric, a simple blacksmith and his secret lover Elizabeth, the daughter to the local judge, had met after Eric found Elizabeth lost, alone in the dark streets after she had disobeyed her fathero s ruling by venturing outside, alone after dark.

When out on another one of their secret dates, they saw a ship which was sailing to the new world. Eric went over the ships First Mate and enquired about him and Elizabeth boarding the ship and sailing to the new world. As women were seen as bad luck on ships, Eric was told that he could go, but Elizabeth could not. He said he could not leave his lover. Elizabeth came up with a plan, she would stow away on board the ship and Eric would pay his way on board and keep Elizabeth hidden, fed and safe.

Three weeks into the trip Elizabeth was getting restless, she needed some sun light on her skin and some fresh air in her lungs. She decided that she would venture out of the hold, the place she was hiding and find her way onto the deck, just for a moment, then she would slip away back to her secrecy. Nervously she opened the door and peered out into the corridor. No one was around, she silently crept down the corridor keeping track of where she had been and where she was going. She heard a voice and footsteps. She turned and ran, the two shipmen heard the not so delicate stomps and ran towards the noise. They saw her dress as she turned round a corner. The two shipmen stopped and turned to each other. Stunned. They turned and ran, screaming "A WOMAN... A WOMAN IS BOARD". When they got on deck, everyone turned to look at them. "Are you sure? Are you certain a woman is on the ship?" The First Mate asked them. "Yes, definitely" one the shipmen replied.
"My god... That leaves us with no choice... " The First Mate stuttered nervously. "ABANDON SHIP... ABANDON SHIP" The First Mate screamed. The entire crew ran to the side of the ship and dived off. Just Eric remained. He went round the ship searching for Elizabeth, calling her name. They found each other and held each other in their arms, tighter than they had ever done so before.

After a short while they both came under the sudden realization that neither of them could sail a ship, but they didn't care, they had each other. For a week or so the ship went where the wind and tide went. Eventually the ship crashed into a shore of an island. Eric and Elizabeth both escaped before the ship went down to the depths of the abyss.

They explored the island which would be their new home, they found no signs of life. Just a few empty buildings and statue of a man proposing. Eric and Elizabeth found themselves in a strange dilemma. They had no way of getting to civilization, but they were alone together, away from society, the people who did not want them to be together. After a day of exploration and retrieving what supplies they could from the now sunken ship, they settled down for the night, not knowing what was befall them the next day. After a restless nights sleep they both awoke ready to start the rest of their lives.




Each day was the same. They awoke in each othero s arms, they would take a walk through the gardens and look out towards the sea for hours upon end until the sun would start to set and they would stay and watch it in each othero s arms. Just before all the light had vanished from the sky they would go back to any one of their humble abodes, fall into each othero s arms before falling asleep. This was their life for years, a perfect life. They loved one another and cherished each moment. One morning, not unlike any other Elizabeth awoke, not an old lady, just like every morning she tightened her grasp around Eric. For hours she lied there with the man she loved. After a while she got hungry, she got up and asked Eric what he wanted, she got no reply. She shook him, hard and harder. Crying and slumped over him she was distraught, the man she loved and cherished for all those years had just gone, over night she. Wailing into his shirt, tears pouring out of her eyes she slowly stood up, shaking. She was not able to live without him. She walked to the edge of the hill that separated the garden from the ocean that surrounded it. Crying, now more than ever she threw her self off, into the dark deep depths of the ocean. In just a few moments she had gone from having everything she could have ever wanted to having nothing. The island they had discovered as young adults and lived on until they were old and frail was now once again deserted with no inhabitants.
