Ferrodwynn - Cathedral Square
Hello Fellows,
today we proudly present you Cathedral Square of Ferrodwynn.
Lots of people helped building this monumental piece of human architecture creating the probably biggest structure on our Server. ( 1 Million Blocks)
The cathedral is part of Ferrodwynn: A magnificent city on the eastern continent, forming its own human empire:
History:
Once this land was cultivated by a small amount of people escaping tyranny and the consequences of war after the collapse of
the great eastern empire. The almost circular valley of Ferrodwynn seemed to be a good choice to make this land their new home.
After a few years the first settlements were founded and more settlers arrived from the far eastern lands.
Areg turned out to be the most powerful of those villages and was therfore decleared as capital of this young nation, being lead
by the man who was first to leave the known world to start a new life in freedom. He...was the first king of Ferrodwynn.
As the time was passing by the king turned into a wise, old man, feeling that his time has come.
He decided to leave the town in the early morning and went into the unknown south, following the pathway of the river that has brought all forms of life into this valley:
Dying alone in the source of that river...to prevent anyone seeing him in a weak constitution.
In the moment of death Ferrodwynn awaked and every villager knew that something terrible had happened. The king's sword - rammed into the ground a few moments before he died -
broke into millions of pieces and the dust was blown down into the valley turning it into productive land.
Since that day this ritual turned into a tradition. Every king left, leaves and will ever leave the town to walk his last march... to die alone.
The route leading southwards was therefore named "the path of the old kings".
Today, after houndreds of years the people of Ferrodwynn decided to create a monumental building at the point, where once that path started...To remember the old kings, to remember their own roots.
