I'm currently building a fictional hospital ship called "HMHS Glory", she was a small British hospital ship during WW1
The ship was meant to be SS Glory but WW1 started, so the Royal navy borrowed the ship from Signcraft shipping Company UK and turned her into a hospital ship. On 10pm, 25th May 1917, she was travelling back to England when she hit a rock, the rock damaged the portside of the ship, the ship flooded quickly. The captain ordered to abandon ship. Two lifeboats were succesfully launched carrying 3 officers, 14 Doctors and nurses, 2 seaman, a fireman and 26 patients. The captain stayed in the chart room waiting to drown. The ship broke into 3 and the bow and stern sunk quickly. The middle part severely listed to starboard, while still connected to the stern it disappeared in 20 seconds, the land was only a couple of hundred metres away, so they didn't need help from another ship, they arrived on the coast of Cornwall at 11:05 pm and got a train back to Southampton, the ship took 10 minutes to sink.
