Hello,
As I've mentioned before, the majority of the prominent citizens' houses are located in the Cervo district (www.planetminecraft.com/project/the-cervo-district/), on a large terrace next to the cathedral square. They are quite modest romanesque structures, which have also been designed to serve as fortresses during riots or civil wars, which used to occur in the city-state.
The first one, from the left, is the largest one made from white marble, and it used to be in possession of one of the richest families in the area, however, as a result of disloyalty, it has been confiscated by the doge and Signoria and later sold to the Medici Bank. Currently the building serves as a department of this prominent institution, giving loans and helping fiorentine merchants in the area. The building was mostly inspired by Palazzo dei Priori at Perugia.
The next one, built of stone bricks and sandstone, is the bishop's palace, who bought this place when his prievous house turned out to be insufficient. It's definitely more modest, but still more elaborated than the rest of them.
The other three (two on the right side of the terrace, one on the opposite side of the square, theoretically located in different district) are in possession of the ancient and significant families of the city, whose members are constantly present in the Signoria and many of them have been elected doges or gonfaloniers.
Additionally You can observe a smaller triumphal arch, made of grey stones, which used to serve as a stronghold of one of the families, but finally was retaken by the authorities and restored to its former state.
You'd like to see the whole project I advise to refer to my prievous submission, or to click the link indicated below.
