Poyezdka Class Patrol Destroyer
Designed in 2147 and first launched in 2155 the Roscosmos Poyezdka Class Patrol Destroyer was the first in a new line of nuclear thermal rocket propelled vessels designed for counter piracy operations between Earth and Mars. Far faster and more efficient than any conventional pirate vessels and possessing a level of firepower unmatched by most other spacecraft in service. The class marked a notable change in doctrine for Russia's armed space forces, describing a spacecraft for the first time as a warship.
Following the breakup of the Russian Federation in 2178 all four ships were either abandoned or absorbed into other fleets. Poyezdka and Sud'ba were left in martian orbit and became part of the martian fleet until their eventual decommissioning in 2212. Sostoyaniye was abandoned in orbit of Ceres and became the flagship of the Ceres defense fleet, undergoing many refits and upgrades over the years to remain in service dispute its considerable age. Puteshestviye was abandoned in lunar orbit and was later commandeered by pirates some time later, conflicting reports say she was either destroyed or heavily damaged in 2217 at the battle of 1437 Diomedes.
